Job Description Assistant Program Director The Assistant Program Director is responsible for the oversight of the daily operation of the Enhanced Supportive Housing for Young Adults program. The Assistant Program Director will provide ongoing training, staff development, and supervision of staff members, carry a partial caseload. Duties include: 1. Oversee the daily operations of the Enhanced Supportive Housing for Young Adult program. Ensure the program is proving quality and client-centered services following all regulatory requirements. Assist the Program Director in providing information on program progress, outcomes, and other information requested by OMH., 2. Assist with staff hiring, training, development, and staff supervision. Be available as a resource to all staff members as needed, including when staff are on-call. Provide regular supervision to staff you directly supervise., 3. Complete audits of documentation, visits, apartment checks, groups, etc. to identify areas that need to be focused on and provide necessary follow-up. Ensure that groups and client visits occur regularly. Conduct monthly checks of case records to ensure all required paperwork/case related documentation is completed by assigned staff., 4. Engage clients in a respectful, strength-based, and culturally competent manner. With clients, assess clients’ needs and strengths for independent living skills, social engagement, vocational and educational services, employment opportunities, and wellness management., 5. Based on clients’ needs and desires, develop an individual recovery plan with the client. Provide education and linkages to community activities and neighborhood services and supports. Monitor progress toward rehabilitation goals and revise services, as necessary., 6. Identify any immediate crisis intervention needs and services. Develop a support plan using community support for the client to utilize on a routine basis and when an emergency need arises., 7. Provide referral and linkage to community services as needed including behavioral health, medical, educational, vocational, and community-based services, family service, legal services, etc., 8. With clients, develop a schedule of visits and provide continual adjustment to the number of visits based on the clients’ needs. Services can be provided in the home, community, or office. Client visits will include apartment checks on a regular basis., 9. Provide education and support in daily living skills including medication, health, and safety. In addition, provide other education needed to maintain independent living in the community., 10. Provide on-call crisis intervention services on a rotating schedule amongst team members. Always act to ensure client’s safety, readily assesses needs, provide support and interventions as needed and secure crisis interventions in urgent situations. Be a resource and provide support to team members who are on-call., 11. Provide transportation to clients when necessary, using agency vehicles. In addition, an employee must have a valid NYS driver’s license and must be an approved driver. An employee must always drive in a safe manner, use all safety devices and be medically able to drive. Employees must have access and be willing to use their personal vehicle to attend client/member meetings in the community and meetings outside the office/program., 12. Mohawk's programs and offices are multi-level with stairs only. Client services in the community include visits to clients’ apartments which can be on the second and third floors. Employees must be able to travel to all levels of the facility in a safe and reasonable manner. Requirements Requirements Skills/Qualifications for the Assistant Program Director include: 1. Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred. Experience in human service and/or college classes will be considered., 2. Two years working in human services including experience working with young adults., 3. One year’s supervisory experience, preferred., 4. Valid and insurable NYS driver's license. Must have a personal vehicle to use for business purposes., 5. Ability to organize and have clear communication both orally and in writing, excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, ability to be flexible, and the ability to follow through while multiple tasking.
