New Country Day Camp is an 8-week, outdoor summer camp for campers in kindergarten-8th grade. NCDC operates M-F, 8am-5pm, and provides transportation for staff and campers to and from our campgrounds on Staten Island via multiple locations throughout Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. NCDC is a neurodiverse camp community, and all staff members are responsible for supporting neurodivergent and neurotypical campers and staff to have successful summers. We are seeking experienced Social Work: Support Supervisors. Support Supervisors play a pivotal role in coordinating and supervising our disability-inclusive model that provides extra support to campers with additional social/emotional/behavioral/mental health needs (includes diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADD/ADHD, mood or anxiety disorders, sensory processing issues, etc.). Support Supervisors ensure that all campers can experience the joy of camp in the most inclusive, least restrictive environment possible. Support Supervisors will work part time during pre-camp (April-June) and transition to full-time during camp program (June-August). ENL Teachers prepare course materials and design lessons that cover all aspects of the English language, whether written or verbal. Depending on grade level and student needs, the ENL Teacher will implement effective ways to push into classrooms as an extra layer of instructional support or pull students out to work on more targeted goals. Job Description About Sisulu-Walker Charter School of Harlem: The mission of the school is to prepare K-6 students living in and around Central Harlem for matriculation to outstanding public, private and parochial middle and high schools by nurturing their intellectual, emotional, artistic and social development. Position Overview: The Sisulu-Walker Charter School of Harlem Special Education Teacher understands and promotes the school’s mission, vision, objectives, and policies both within and outside the immediate school community. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing a classroom/instructional program that supports the individual needs of all children in accordance with the school’s mission and values established by the school.
