    Pay: $32,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year Job description: The William Woodward Jr. Nursery School seeks a Part Time Preschool Lead Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year with a September 2026 start date: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am-12:30 pm The PreK classroom at Woodward is comprised of children between the ages of 3.9-5.0 who are preparing for entrance into Kindergarten the following fall. As a Lead PreK Teacher, you will have the opportunity to guide our oldest children and their families through their final year at Woodward. The Lead Teacher is responsible for the following: • Creating and implementing a rich and developmentally appropriate curriculum that will prepare our learners for Kindergarten and beyond., • Creating a positive and safe learning environment that fosters social/emotional growth and development., • Completing ongoing school reports when requested by the families and ongoing schools., • Collaboration with all other teaching staff, SEITs, and other outside service professionals and willingness to contribute to a small community of teachers and staff by assisting in some administrative duties and daily check-in meetings with other head teachers., • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including sending a weekly email to classroom parents with lesson plans as well as a monthly newsletter to the school community and some virtual slide presentations., • Able to create successful partnerships with parents to meet the needs of the children., • Warm and nurturing demeanor and a genuine respect and appreciation for small children., • Comfortable and experienced in caring for children turning 4-5 years old, including supporting separation and addressing other developmental needs with patience and empathy., • Conducting twice yearly parent-teacher conferences as well as maintaining regular communication with parents both in person (when possible) and via email., • Completing school reports twice a year., • Must possess the ability and willingness to differentiate instruction whenever needed., • Must possess the ability to use and maintain good classroom management., • Professional dedication and dependability., • Willingness to participate in Open House Events, Curriculum Night, Back to School activities, and staff meetings when necessary in addition to contracted work hours., • Knowledge of Reggio Emilia practice and Handwriting without Tears is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess the following or be willing to complete all of the following on or before 08/1/26: • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or working toward one., • NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education, • A minimum of five years of experience, preferably as a Lead Teacher, • DOH Background Check, including Fingerprinting. Part-Time Kitchen Aide / Assistant Cook – Role Description: Sunnyside Community Services is seeking a Kitchen Aide/Assistant Cook to work at the Older Adult Center which provides essential services to older adults in a community-based setting, including education, recreation, physical and mental health support, benefit assistance, referrals, and nutritious, freshly prepared meals served daily. The Kitchen Aide/Assistant Cook is responsible for cooking and assisting with meal preparation for Older Adult Center members and agency programs, while ensuring compliance with Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and Department for the Aging (DFTA) standards and regulations. This role supports safe, sanitary kitchen operations and helps maintain a welcoming environment for older adults, volunteers, and visitors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform daily food preparation and cooking, including meal service for the Older Adult Center and agency programs, in accordance with DFTA nutrition guidelines, regulated portion sizes, and DOHMH regulations. Breakfast and/or evening service may be required., • Receive and store food and kitchen deliveries as needed., • Assist with inventory management of food, supplies, and kitchen equipment., • Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitization of all kitchen and dining areas, including refrigeration and freezer units, steam tables, beverage dispensers, work surfaces, cooking equipment, dishes, utensils, appliances, storage areas, and dining room tables., • Support oversight of kitchen volunteers and food handlers during meal preparation, service, and cleanup in compliance with DOHMH and DFTA standards., • Attend required DFTA trainings and other related meetings as assigned. Physical Requirements: • Ability to work in a kitchen environment and remain standing for extended periods., • Ability to lift and carry heavy items., • Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation.     Mid-Bronx CCRP Head Start Job Description Teacher STATEMENT OF JOB The Teacher coordinates implementation of curriculum that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start children. Encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program and their child’s education. To develop individual goals for children transitioning into programs, provide on-going observation and assessment of progress and facilitate transition into kindergarten. QUALIFICATIONS • BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field, or MA/MS in Early Childhood Education. • New York State Certification B-2, New York State Initial Certification, or New York State Professional Certification Birth-Grade 2 (Professional Certification mandates 30 hours of Professional Development every 5 years) • Two years teaching experience and/or supervised student teaching., • Physical Requirement: Physical examination (includes screening for tuberculosis) to show that the individual does not pose a risk to the safety and health of others because of communicable diseases. SPECIFIC DUTIES I. Classroom • Plans and implements the educational program for children by using Creative Curriculum and other resources. • Develop and utilize lesson plans, which reflect mandated elements, parental and cultural influences, and promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start children. • Individualize one-to-one group activities to reflect the unique needs and strengths of all children in the classroom, including those who are at risk, those with special needs, those who are gifted, and those who are culturally diverse. • Follow a consistent schedule, which includes small and large group experiences, choice time, music and movement, large and small motor activities, language and literacy, problem solving, two or three daily meals, and effective transition between activities. • Encourage experimentation, exploration, cooperation, socialization, ask open-ended questions and listen respectfully to the answers. • Provide an atmosphere that promotes and reinforces parental involvement in the classroom. 2 • Work with other staff and resources in developing specialized planning for children/families as needed, such as speech, occupational, physical, psychological therapist and nutritionist. • Always supervise and monitor children., • Respond to crisis or emergency situations that may occur. Provide first aid or CPR, prevent the spread of blood borne pathogens, and access emergency services as needed. • Accompanies children on trips., • Supervises Assistant Teachers and Volunteers in the classroom., • Participates in case conferences., • Holds parent teacher conferences., • Maintain accurate written records, including assessments, special education documentation, screening instruments, anecdotal observations, family contacts, lesson plans, monthly reports, form 10’s, documents for transition to public school and parent/teacher conference and other required forms.
