About the Role Were looking for an Assistant Project Manager that will support the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and controls systems across commercial construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, field leadership, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in bridging field operations and office management by supporting documentation, coordination, cost tracking, and communication across all phases of the project lifecycle. Core Responsibilities • Project Coordination, • Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and coordinating PMEP system installations., • Prepare and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and closeout packages., • Maintain organized electronic project files and ensure accurate document control within project management systems., • Track material procurement, equipment lead times, and deliveries to support field progress., • Support the development and maintenance of PMEP Workplans and project schedules., • Field Coordination and Support, • Work directly with field leadership to coordinate labor, materials, and subcontractors., • Participate in jobsite walks to track progress and identify coordination issues., • Assist with punch lists, QA/QC documentation, and installation verification., • Support documentation of field work plans, including short-term look-ahead schedules., • Assist in commissioning activities and support system turnover to clients., • Cost and Schedule Management, • Track project costs, labor hours, and productivity metrics., • Support preparation of billing documentation and change order proposals., • Assist in monitoring project budgets and identifying cost or schedule risks., • Provide updates to Project Managers regarding cost trends and project performance., • Safety and Quality Support, • Promote and support a strong safety culture across all project activities., • Participate in safety meetings and ensure adherence to company safety policies and procedures., • Support quality control efforts through field observations and documentation., • Verify installations align with drawings, specifications, and company standards., • Communication and Collaboration, • Coordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, and vendors to support timely issue resolution., • Communicate project updates, design clarifications, and scope changes to the project team., • Maintain professional representation in all internal and external interactions., • Support alignment between office, field, and client stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience., • One to three years of experience in mechanical, HVAC, or construction project coordination., • Familiarity with ductwork, piping, and controls systems installation and commissioning., • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schedules, and specifications., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook., • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, ProjectSight, or Bluebeam preferred., • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
