Job Title: Lead Cable TechnicianJob Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Cable Technician to oversee and guide a team of entry-level and mid-level cable technicians in the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems. This role is critical in ensuring the successful buildout of data center infrastructure, including copper and fiber optic cabling, server racks, cable trays, and low-voltage terminations. Key Responsibilities • Supervise and mentor a team of cable technicians, ensuring adherence to project timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards., • Coordinate daily work assignments and provide hands-on support in:, • Pulling and routing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables., • Installing and terminating copper and fiber connections., • Building and grounding server racks and cable tray systems., • Performing fire-stopping procedures and core drilling as needed., • Interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings to guide installations., • Conduct quality checks and ensure all work meets industry standards (BICSI, NEC, etc.)., • Maintain accurate documentation including timesheets, material usage, and change orders., • Serve as the primary point of contact for project managers and clients on-site., • Train junior technicians on best practices, safety, and technical skills.Required Skills & Qualifications, • 3–5 years of experience in structured cabling, with at least 1 year in a leadership role., • Proficiency in terminating, testing, and troubleshooting Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cables., • Familiarity with cable support systems (J-hooks, D-rings, trapeze, etc.)., • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and cabling schematics., • Strong organizational and communication skills., • OSHA 30 and/or BICSI certification preferred., • Willingness to work flexible hours, including 10–12 hour shifts and weekends as needed.Preferred Traits, • Team-oriented with a proactive leadership style., • Comfortable working in fast-paced, large-scale environments such as data centers., • Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
