Job Summary The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overall leadership and direction of all warehouse operations, overseeing Warehouse Area Managers, Supervisors, Coordinators, and Associates. This role ensures the effective execution of shipping, receiving, inventory management, material handling, and warehouse systems to support production and distribution facilities. The Warehouse Manager provides strategic leadership for salaried and hourly teams, balancing staffing, workflow, and compliance with all internal policies and external regulations. This position plays a critical role in developing warehouse processes, achieving operational efficiency, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining safety and quality standards across the entire warehouse organization. Duties and Responsibilities • Warehouse Leadership & Oversight, • Provides leadership for all warehouse staff, including Area Leads, Supervisors, Coordinators, and Associates, • Ensures daily operations are aligned with production, shipping, and customer requirements, • Oversees finished goods, ingredients, and packaging material movements, ensuring accurate storage, tracking, and distribution, • Drives accountability and performance across shifts to deliver on KPIs, service goals, and cost efficiency, • Strategic Operations Management, • Develops, implements, and monitors strategic warehouse initiatives to optimize processes, space utilization, and material flow, • Manages inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier performance, on-time delivery/receipts, and shipping compliance, • Ensures alignment of warehouse operations with demand forecasting, production planning, and logistics scheduling, • Oversees systems such as WMS/ERP, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and utilization for efficiency and analytics, • Staff Development & Performance Management, • Supervises and mentors salaried leaders and hourly associates, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, • Supports recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and succession planning for all warehouse team members, • Tracks employee performance, deliver coaching, and lead disciplinary actions when necessary, • Ensures sufficient staffing plans for all warehouse shifts, including overtime and call-in coverage, • Compliance & Safety, • Ensures compliance with GMP, OSHA, FDA, TTB, DOT, fire codes, safety protocols, sanitation, insurance guidelines, and pest control programs, • Fosters a strong safety culture; verify compliance with PPE standards, forklift inspections, and equipment maintenance practices, • Leads preparation and response for regulatory and internal audits related to warehouse operations, • Maintains high standards of cleanliness, organization, and operational discipline, • Financial & Resource Management, • Manages the warehouse budget, including labor, equipment, and supplies, • Purchases pallets, slip sheets, pallet tags, and other warehouse materials, • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams on reconciliations, variances, and audit processes, • Identifies and implements process and system improvements, partnering with company leadership to modernize and streamline warehouse practices, • Utilizes Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and reduce costs, • Interdepartmental Collaboration, • Works closely with Packaging, Production, Brewing, Purchasing, Customer Service, Accounting, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure seamless operations, • Serves as the warehouse point of contact for customer service and production scheduling issues, • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support overall business objectives Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (required), • Minimum of 7 years experience as a Warehouse Manager or equivalent leadership role in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments, • Proven experience managing both salaried and hourly teams, • Team-oriented with excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Advanced computer proficiency required; WMS and ERP experience preferred, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make data-driven, timely decision, • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is highly desired, • Basic computer and math skills, • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, • Forklift certification is preferred (or ability to obtain) City Brewery is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all applicants will be considered without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.
