Job Description Primary Job Title: Assistant Construction Manager Alternate/Related Job Titles: Assistant Project Manager – Construction EPC Assistant Construction Manager Construction Project Coordinator Field Project Manager Assistant Site Manager Location: Newton, MA Onsite Flexibility: Onsite (Travel required within a 1–3 hour radius) Contract Details (Contract roles only): • Position Type: Contract, • Contract Duration: 9 Months, • Start: As Soon As Possible, • Adhere to company safety programs, training, and policies while collaborating with project teams to manage Safety & Health performance, • Build and maintain client relationships and support proposal and project-related communications, • Assist in development of internal and external project risk reviews and coordinate with Legal as required, • Support development and implementation of Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Safety & Health Plan, Subcontracting Plan, Staffing Plan, and Procurement Plan, • Contribute to negotiation and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders, • Support site mobilization and demobilization planning and implementation, • Secure applicable project permits, • Prepare RFPs, assist with bidder prequalification, scope development, bid evaluation, and contract documentation, • Execute contract administration, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change management, and claims mitigation, • Support cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, project setup/closeout, and field progress tracking, • Prepare and present project status reports, including risks, schedule, costs, and cash flow, • Verify subcontractor insurance, licensure, and compliance requirements, • Support safety, quality, progress, and financial audits, • Facilitate materials receiving, inventory control, storage, and transportation, • Support craft labor planning, staffing, cost analysis, labor burden monitoring, and unit rate management, • Assist with project turnover documentation, warranty tracking, and closeout processes, • Manage construction equipment inventory and utilizationRequired Experience:, • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, and 3 years relevant construction experience OR applicable experience in lieu of degree, • Experience in Electric Utilities Transmission, Distribution, or Substation construction project management preferred, • Ability to travel within a 1–3 hour radius from the reporting location, • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)Nice-to-Have Experience:, • PMP certification or Professional Engineering (PE) designation, • Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software, • Experience across aviation, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, transportation, or water projects, • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Required Skills:, • Construction project coordination and contract administration, • Cost control and scheduling support, • Safety and quality compliance, • Risk assessment and mitigation, • Stakeholder and subcontractor coordinationPreferred Skills:, • EPC project support, • Labor and craft management analysis, • Equipment and materials management, • Financial reporting and earned value tracking, • Multi-project coordination in fast-paced environmentsAdditional Skills from Original Description:, • RFI and submittal management, • Change order processing, • Permit acquisition, • Insurance and compliance verification, • Project documentation control systems Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans * 401k Retirement Fund About the Client: Infrastructure Engineering Firm designing and building essential infrastructure for cities.
