Job Description Personal Care Aide (PCA) – Job Description - IMMEDIATE OPENING Locations: Portsmouth, Suffolk, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, Virginia Job Summary Personal Care Aides (PCAs) are hired to provide quality in-home care and support to clients in their daily living activities. The ideal candidate is caring, patient, and dedicated to helping individuals maintain their independence and dignity in the comfort of their homes. Responsibilities • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding, • Provide mobility support including transfers, ambulation and repositioning, • Perform light housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation as part of daily care routines, • Offer companionship, emotional support and encourage client engagement in activities, • Monitor and report any changes in client condition or behavior to the supervisor, • Provide medication reminders as directed in the care plan, • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, • Adhere to infection control, safety and privacy protocols at all times, • High school diploma or GED preferred*, • Current PCA certification (Virginia) preferred/training offered**, • CPR AED and First Aid certification required/training offered***, • TB Test required (must test negative), • Minimum 1 year of experience in personal care or home health (3 years preferred), • Ability to assist clients with mobility or transfer needs, • Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 pounds, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate attitude, • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required., • Ability to work independently and follow written care plans, • Basic documentation and time management skills, • Flexible scheduling available (minimum 4-hour shifts) **PCA Training paid/deducted from paycheck ***CPR AED First-Aid Certification paid/deducted from paycheck YOU CAN ALSO APPLY ON OUR WEBSITE: HTTPS://HOME-HEALTHMED.COM Company DescriptionHome-HealthMed Services, LLC deliver skilled nursing and non-skilled personal care and concierge wellness services to seniors, veterans, post-surgical adults and adults living with developmental and/or mental disabilities. in the Hampton Roads Virginia region.
