Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k), • 401(k) matching, • Employee discounts, • Health insurance The Barista will promote coffee consumption by educating customers; selling coffee and other beverages; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with baked goods and other items. • Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs, • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions, • Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino, • Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar, • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and reporting needed repairs to manager, • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and sanitation regulations, • Collect and process payments from the customer including cash, credit and debit cards and room charges, • Display merchandise in an attractive and functional manner, • Maintain clean and hygienic work area, • Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skills and or ability required. • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process, • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, • Most tasks are performed independently or in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision, • High volume experience with coffee making equipment, • Working knowledge of all forms of coffee and standard beverage recipes, • Basic numeracy and money-handling skills, • Able to stand for long hours, • Able to lift and carry moderate amounts of weight, • Has a sincere desire to exceed guest expectations, • Flexibility in their schedulingThe greatest key to our success is our people.
