This role follows a 2nd shift schedule, working hours are 2:00PM - 11:00PM with designated days off on Tuesday & Wednesday. A Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting all repairs and preventative maintenance on facility and production equipment. They are responsible for ensuring that the production team has no barriers with production equipment and that contractors are coordinated when completing scheduled service. Detailed Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance • Services and maintains production-related equipment, which includes motors, conveyors, vibratory fillers, tub washer, flow wrapper, etc., • Installs new production equipment, • Provides guidance and training to machine operators to increase efficiency and reduce downtime on production equipment, • Reads and interprets equipment manuals to troubleshoot equipment and to assess functionality, • Maintains records of PMs and emergency work in the CMMS for equipment history, • Responsible for keeping the facility in good working order and in compliance with all safety requirements, • Coordinates work orders related to facility improvements and repairs such as dock door and dock leveler repairs, plumbing repairs, building access control, etc., • Oversees contractors conducting facility repairs on the air compressor, hot water heater, and the fire suppression system, • Documents work related to facility improvements and repairs in the Home Chef CMMS to maintain history, • Directly responsible for making the maintenance shop audit ready at all times, this includes but is not limited to properly storing flammable lubricants and maintaining records of critical safety equipment, • Keeps the shop tools and spare parts well organized so that all shifts can conduct required maintenance, • Conducts all work in accordance with sound safety practices and proper work methods or procedures; wears all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, • Complies with all environmental laws and regulations for chemicals and lubricants as well as disposal and storage, • Performs work in accordance with all quality systems requirements and understands what Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) are and is willing and able to fully support these requirements, • Works under pressure when emergencies occur, • Works with a sense of urgency to minimize production downtime, • Prioritizes work orders to minimize impact to production and employees, • Follow the facility GMPs and help enforce policies throughout the facility The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for this role. Job Description Science Teacher - IJLA COMPANY DESCRIPTION Instituto Justice and Leadership Academy (IJLA) is a small Options school that feels like home for the 150 Latinx youth we serve from Pilsen and the surrounding community. IJLA is a second chance high school designed to serve students between the ages of 16-21 who are seeking a more personalized and individualized program. We provide students with an interdisciplinary, project-based academic program while simultaneously providing strong social emotional supports. Our educational philosophy is rooted in social justice and focuses on rebuilding students’ perspective of learning in order to navigate life in a meaningful and purposeful way. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Science Teacher reports to the Principal and is responsible for teaching science to high school students. The teacher provides effective and culturally relevant instruction to grades 9-12 that meets both ACT and standards and Common Core standards in order to prepare students to graduate from IJLA with an effective grasp, while incorporating applications of science and scientific thinking to post-secondary experiences. The Science Teacher presents concepts with varying research-based teaching strategies to ensure student comprehension, while applying hands-on activities, and being actively aware of multiple intelligences in the student body when preparing differentiated curriculum and lessons. In addition, the teacher should demonstrate mastery of using research based and effective classroom management techniques. Ultimately, the teacher is responsible for developing science skilled students who are capable of mastering the subject to be fully prepared for the rigors of demanding college curriculum and success as future medical professionals.
