Elm Street, High Point, NC 27262, • 351 licensed beds, • No Trauma Designation, • Teaching Hospital, • Chest Pain Center, • Stroke Center, • Unit Information: 36 Beds, • Census/Average patients/day: ADC = 35 currently, • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Stroke, heart failure, TIA, sepsis, syncope, AKI, CP, and other general intermediate dx, • Skills required: General care of the intermediate patient - this is the designated IMC stroke unit for the hospital, so NIHSS certification required and detecting and escalating neuro changes. Managing some hemodynamic drips, titrating down to off - Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Neo, Nitro, Amio. Telemetry understanding and analyzing of rhythms with back-up support from cardiac surveillance.
