Job Description Westminster University Mental Health Therapist (9-Month Position) Employment Type: Full Time, Benefited (9-Month) Work Location: Westminster University Campus 1840 South 1300 East Salt Lake City, UT 84105 Position Summary: Student Affairs at Westminster University is committed to fostering an equitable, inclusive, safe, and well campus community. Integrated Wellness is a department within Student Affairs that provides comprehensive, coordinated health and wellness services to the student community. The department includes a Director, Assistant Director, Nurse Practitioner(s), Mental Health Therapist(s), and clinical trainee(s). Reporting directly to the Director of Integrated Wellness, the Mental Health Therapist serves as a staff clinician providing individual and group counseling to students, while actively contributing to the strategic vision of Integrated Wellness through collaboration with campus partners to support student well-being. This is a full-time, exempt, 40-hour per week, 9-month position. Specific work dates will be determined in consultation with the Director and will fall between August 1 and May 31. Work hours may include occasional evenings or weekends to support university events or periods of increased student need. Application Instructions: A complete application that demonstrates competencies will include: • A resume, • A cover letter Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in mental health counseling, counseling or clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, or a closely related field., • Minimum of two years post-full licensure experience in a clinical or higher education setting (i.e. four or more years post-graduate degree)., • Current licensure in the state of Utah as a CMHC, LCSW, Psychologist, or MFT., • Demonstrated ability to contribute collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism and ethical practice., • Knowledge of college and graduate student mental health concerns and familiarity with student affairs in higher education., • Working knowledge of young adult development, gender identity development, and multicultural identity development., • Demonstrated use of trauma-informed, multicultural, and identity-affirming therapeutic approaches., • Experience working in a college or university counseling center, particularly with concerns related to depression, anxiety, stress, and adjustment., • Experience providing clinical supervision and completion of Utah-required clinical supervision training., • Experience utilizing social media, digital outreach, or event promotion to engage students in wellness initiatives. Job Responsibilities: • Provide up to 24 hours per week of direct service, which includes individual and group psychotherapy for undergraduate/ graduate students as well as clinical supervision of assigned supervisees., • Participate in weekly crisis/triage assessment coverage as coordinated with resources provided by TimelyCare and campus protocols., • Deliver mental health education, outreach programming, and wellness resources to students and campus partners., • Actively engage in ongoing in-house diversity, equity, and inclusion training, and seek consultation to enhance cultural humility and clinical effectiveness., • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with licensure requirements, ethical standards, risk management protocols, and accreditation guidelines., • Provide clinical supervision and professional support to master’s- and/ or associate-level trainees, as assigned., • Provide oversight and leadership for mental health services in the Director’s absence, as delegated., • Serve on university committees and task forces that advance Integrated Wellness and Student Affairs initiatives., • Participate in collaborative planning and implementation of new student orientation programming related to integrated wellness., • Support and staff university-wide events, including new student orientation, convocation, commencement, and outreach/tabling events., • Promote an inclusive campus culture through active demonstration of the commitments outlined in the Westminster University Diversity Statement., • Perform other duties as assigned.
