Behavioral Health Technician - Night Shift!

Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Behavioral Health Technician supports clients in their daily living activities while also observing, monitoring, and documenting client behaviors and interactions. They devise therapeutic recreation plans for groups, guide the department's philosophy towards purposeful interventions and therapies, collaborate with other clinical staff on special projects and duties, lead individual and group activities with clients, and maintain professional and respectful communication with both clients and the treatment team. Schedule: This is a full-time, overnight position with hours from 7:30 PM to 8:00 AM 3 days a week, including rotating weekends and holidays. Orientation: Initial training will be held during the daytime for 1–2 days to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES • Encourages clients to complete personal hygiene, grooming, and activities of daily living to restore independence., • Transports clients to and from external appointments including but not limited to medical care, dental care, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, voting and other appointments as the arise., • Obtains vital signs including weights, blood pressure, glucose as delegated by nursing and accurately documents result in the patient’s medical record., • Maintains a professional attitude and personal behavior which enhances the efficacy of the therapeutic environment through: • courteous interactions with all clients, visitors, and staff,, • provides comfort to patients,, • demonstrates compassion for the clients we serve. patient and family,, • respect client confidentiality at all times. • Observes, monitors, documents and reports patient behaviors and progress and the end of each shift to the appropriate clinician., • Periodic rounding to maintain a therapeutic, secure, and safe environment for all and accurately document rounding., • Intervenes appropriately and therapeutically in crisis situations., • Monitors clients taking their medication and completes all required documentation., • Monitors client’s physical health, reactions to medication and/or any physical changes and reports observations to the residential nurse., • Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Position Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA), STNA preferred., • CPR Certification Work Environment • Clients need care 24 hours a day, and scheduled work hours include weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear., • The employee is frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. (The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds)., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
