WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are on the search for a Part-time Patient Access Representative to join our Moorhead, MN team 20 hours per week. In a Patient Access Representative role at CHSI, you will be responsible for assisting patients navigate healthcare at CHSI through over the phone and in-person interactions. At the front desk, this includes processing healthcare service payments and managing patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role serves as a critical liaison between patients and clinical staff, ensuring effective communication, accurate data entry, and positive patient experience Duties: • Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound calls in a timely and professional manner, always identifying self and clinic., • Greet and assist patients both in-person and by phone; determine needs, answer questions, take accurate messages, and route calls as appropriate., • Follow communication "scripts" in Teams when handling various topics to ensure consistency and accuracy., • Complete patient registration, update patient demographic data, and update existing patient records in accordance with policies and procedures as well as other relevant information (phone number, address, etc.)., • Verify and update patient insurance, Medicare, and Managed Care., • Educate all patients on CHSI's Sliding Fee Scale and associated documentation., • Scan all demographic and consent paperwork into the EHR under the appropriate tabs and document phone notes when applicable., • Navigate EHR to locate and verify patient information as needed., • Maintain and manage the EHR patient chart desktop., • Collect patient payments and document related notes regarding collection assist patient with navigating website for payment plan information., • Monitor and reconcile appointments with the patient appointment reminder system., • Ensure the waiting room is cleaned and tidied between each patient., • Make manual appointment reminder calls when necessary., • Document patient communication in the EHR via telephone encounters. In addition to being a wonderful team member, we are seeking an individual with the below qualifications: PHYSICAL ABILITIES • In an eight hour workday, the employee must be able to: bend and crouch occasionally, sit continuously and stand or walk frequently., • Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally., • Maintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with internal customers (co-workers, CHSI's staff, Board of Directors) and external customers (the public, patients, and vendors)., • Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and ethical behavior in all interactions., • Open to learning and adapting to new challenges and responsibilities., • Strives to learn more and receptive to new challenges and opportunities., • High school diploma or G.E.D. required., • 2 years of experience in medical reception is preferred but not required., • Ability to use Microsoft Word for basic correspondence., • Must be able to use a calculator., • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required., • Some occasional travel may be required for this position., • Demonstrate clear knowledge of CHSI clinic structure, standards, procedures and protocols., • Must have neat and legible handwriting., • Must be able to interact with patients courteously and calmly.
