Job DescriptionSalary: TBD, based upon licensure, education and experience. WHO WE ARE Maple Lake Academy is a residential treatment center for adolescents (12 to 18) on the autistic spectrum. Our students are high functioning dealing with deficits in social skills, life skills, inability to understand their own emotions or put their emotions in to words. Many of our students are emotionally fragile or dont have strong emotional intelligence. We provide a safe and nurturing home like environment for our students to learn skills that push them in the areas mentioned above. Our team works with our client population daily, hands on, and in one on one situations. Since 2005, Maple lake Academy has been providing support to teens experiencing high-functioning ASD, non-verbal learning disability (NVLD), Social Pragmatic Communication Disorder (SPCD) and other significant life challenges including depression, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, attachment disorders, self-esteem, psychological trauma, and other challenges. We use an attachment theory approach to care and seek to help teens embrace life and learning one success at a time. OVERVIEW We are looking for a therapist to join our clinical team. We are looking for someone who has experience working with adolescents or a desire to work with adolescents. You will be working with other professionals within our clinical department. We work as a team! This person will also have regular interactions with our other team members from our academic, residential, and health and nutrition departments. We have a doctorate level supervisor on site who has worked with many over the years who are just finishing their program. BENEFITS AND PERKS • Medical group coverage (Maple Lake covers a high percentage of your premium, so your monthly investment is low!), • HSA option for health coverage, • Group basic and supplemental Life Insurance, • Great Paid Time Off benefits to help accommodate work-life balance (Vacation, Sick Time, Parental Leave, Bereavement, 8 Company Holidays) A very collaborative team between all departments • Close teamwork among all staff, • A positive and supportive working environment, • Great work-life balance, • Employee activities and company parties throughout the year Responsibilities and Duties: • Manage a full caseload of 6 clients and their families (1.5 hours of individual therapy and 1.5 hours of family therapy per caseload per week), • Lead 1 group therapy session per week, • Dedicate 1-2 hours a weekto be involved withstudentslives outside of formal therapy, • Create and carry out Master Treatment Plan for each client, • Collaborate with treatment team weekly to deliver interventions to clients and their families, • Participate in consultation and supervision groupsonce a week, • Maintain attention to detail in charting and other professional documentation using Best Notes, • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA standards, • Complete activities required to maintain a license in good standing to practice psychotherapy in the State of Utah, • Adhere to the applicable associations' code of Ethics and the State of Utahs laws and rules, • Assist families in understanding the importance of program completion, • Work with our Marketing team at times to assist in admitting qualified families, • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team, • Participate quarterly in parent weekends, teachingskill-basedworkshops to parents and caregivers or clients, • Outstanding communication skills and DSM-5 competency, • Open to professional and clinical feedback, • High level of self-awareness, and demonstrate ability to self-regulate in a stressful situation, • Be a resource to residential staff, taking time to teach them in the moment as needed, • Commitment to providing culturally competent services, with an ongoing commitment to training and development, • Attend all required training meetings, • Maintain an up-to-date training record, • Achieve and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid upon hire, • Achieve and maintain certification in Positive Control Systems (PCS) upon hire, • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for clients, • May be asked to participate in the annual camp out we hold for students, • Other duties as assigned Technology Requirements • Copy/Fax machine: Basic, • Computer Skills: Basic, • Microsoft 365:Intermediate, • Video Conferencing: Basic Minimum Requirements and Experience • Education Requirements: LMFT, LCSW, LCMHC, Psychologist, • Active in Utah as an LMFT, LCSW, LCMHC, or Licensed Psychologist, • Ability to pass a criminal background check upon hire, • Experience working with adolescents, • Experience working with autism spectrum disorders, • 2+ years related experience with an active license, but will consider less experience for the right fit Schedule Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (may have Fridays off if work is complete and a full 40 hours have been completed Monday -Thursday). Some hours and times may vary depending on scheduling needs for weekly therapy calls with families on caseload. An ATTACHMENT Approach Most youth residential treatment programs use a behavioral approach to therapeutic and residential support, but we set ourselves apart for our students by using anattachment-based approach. Everything we do is through the lens of attachment theory. As a member of the MLA team, you'll get great training in attachment styles, and how to best help teens in our program build healthy relationships with themselves, their peers, and caregivers. Additionally, we focus on helping students identify the core issues behind their behaviors and thoughts, and then how to address those core needs.
