Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipper & Receiver Job Description This shipper and receiver position focuses on preparing outgoing shipments, coordinating closely with the customer service team, and ensuring that all shipping documents and transactions are completed accurately and on time. You will handle material movement, perform general warehouse tasks, and use computer systems and carrier platforms to process orders in a fast-paced distribution center. Responsibilities • Transact customer orders accurately using both carrier systems and the company’s ERP system., • Perform quality control inspections within the workflow to ensure orders meet required standards., • Package and tape international shipments in multi-pack cartons for export, following shipping guidelines., • Affix shipping labels to packed cartons and verify that labels match shipment contents and documentation., • Conduct an accurate inventory count at the end of each day and report any discrepancies., • Serve as a back-up order picker as needed, using RF scanners and other tools to pick and pack orders., • Assemble cardboard cartons as needed for large, multipack shipments and special orders., • Move prepared shipments from the shipping cart to the dock door using pallet jacks or other material handling equipment., • Call and email forwarding companies to arrange pick-up and confirm schedules., • Consign shipments to forwarders and ensure the correct shipments are consigned by carefully reviewing documents and instructions., • Maintain good communication and rapport with co-workers to support smooth warehouse operations., • Keep the shipping area organized, neat, and free of safety hazards., • Keep the supervisor informed of issues on the shipping floor, including delays, discrepancies, or equipment concerns., • Perform other shipping, receiving, and general warehouse duties as assigned.Essential Skills, • Material handling experience in a warehouse or distribution environment., • General warehouse experience, including shipping, receiving, and order picking., • Ability to use carrier systems (such as UPS and FedEx platforms) and ERP systems to process shipments., • Computer literacy with proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner., • Demonstrated ability to learn new software and applications quickly., • Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain forklift certification within the required timeframe., • Experience using RF scanners for order picking and inventory tasks., • Ability to operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment., • Attention to detail and accuracy when handling documents, labels, and inventory counts.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with shipping and receiving using UPS and FedEx systems, including domestic and international shipments., • Previous experience in a high-rack distribution center environment., • Comfort working with multi-pack and export shipments., • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across operations and customer service., • Reliability in attendance and punctuality to support shift-based operations., • Adaptability to different shifts and locations within the distribution network, as needed.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a new distribution center environment with extensive racking similar to a large warehouse club, where material handling equipment is used to stage orders for shipment. You will work around pallet jacks, forklifts, and RF scanners while moving products through the shipping and receiving process. Multiple shift options are available, including day and swing shifts at different locations, with schedules such as early morning to mid-afternoon or mid-afternoon to late evening across Monday through Friday or Monday through Thursday patterns. The facility emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and safety on the shipping floor, and provides access to on-site amenities such as a kitchen, recreation areas, and fitness facilities, contributing to a comfortable and supportive work setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
