Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Wound Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 06/01/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 37 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x7.5hrs, • Hours: 37.5 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Jun 1, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Position is based in a 665-bed acute care teaching hospital within a large New Jersey health system offering advanced quaternary services including heart and lung transplants, • Work is conducted in the Wound Care unit with a focus on pressure injury identification, prevention, and management, • Patient population includes acute and critical care patients, including those recovering from open heart surgery and heart/lung transplants, • Shift is days, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 5x7.5-hour shifts per week, • Flexibility with end-of-shift time is required based on documentation needs, admissions/discharges, and staffing — no patient handoff at shift end, • Every other weekend required, • Holiday coverage required based on unit needs (1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays), • Epic EMR experience is required, • Local candidates are acceptedRequirements, • Active NJ or Compact RN license currently in hand, • Current BLS certification required, • Wound Care certification required — CWCN or WOCN, • Minimum 1 year of wound and/or ostomy care nursing experience required, • Proficiency in acute care/critical care settings required, • Wound care skills required: wound/ulcer assessment and management (staging I–IV, neuropathic, peripheral arterial, and venous ulcers), wound treatments and dressings (alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, silver products, VAC), autolytic and enzymatic debridement, mechanical debridement, growth factors, Braden scale and adult prevention risk assessment, infection control, and isolation precautions, • Ostomy care skills required: colostomy/ileostomy management, continence skin care, double barrel and end stoma care, and ostomy equipment selection, • Additional clinical skills required: ABI/peripheral arterial assessments, catheter management, fecal and urinary continence programs, external catheter use, tunneling and undermining wound assessment, cellulitis and edema management, and pressure ulcer risk identification, • Epic EMR experience required, • SSN and DOB required for consideration, • Two current professional references required for consideration, • Copies of certifications required for considerationAdditional Information, • Responsibilities include performing wound rounds and prevalence studies, interfacing with primary nurses and nurse educators, and documenting findings to support pressure injury reduction initiatives, • Candidate will maintain an Excel spreadsheet tracking pressure injury data including staging and whether injuries are hospital-acquired or present on admission, • Data collected will support leadership team analysis and identification of priority improvement areas, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Former RWJBH employees (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
