Substitute Teacher Compensation (Odessa and Midland, Texas): Starting at $90-120/day (Based on level of education/teacher certification) What are some benefits for working with Teachers Now? * Fingerprinting reimbursement * Paid Training * Remote interview process A Day in the life of a Substitute Teacher (Odessa and Midland, Texas): * Flexible work days Monday through Friday, must be available 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM * (7:30 AM - 12 PM / 12 PM - 4:30 PM for half days) * Implement and follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students * Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment * Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student * Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria * Provide in-class assignments based on the available lesson plan * For long-term substitute teacher: develop lesson plans with the help of department heads (admin or teachers) and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans Substitute Teacher Qualifications (Odessa and Midland, Texas): * Associate degree or 60+ College hours * Bachelors' degree or Teacher's certification (preferred but not required) * Experience working as a substitute teacher (preferred but not required) * Strong English verbal and written communication skills * Excellent interpersonal skills along with keeping a friendly and positive communication with students, parents and administrators. * Ability to lead and instruct students of all ages * General knowledge of several subjects * Flexibility and critical-thinking skills * Ensure the safety of all students at all times. * Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment and perform all duties and procedures provided by the absent teacher.
