Job DescriptionDescription: The Senior Employment Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities and other employment barriers to achieve greater independence and self-sufficiency through meaningful work. This position involves direct client engagement, advocacy, job readiness training, and employment placement. The Senior Employment Specialist works closely with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, including individuals with intellectual, developmental, physical, and mental health disabilities, justice-involved individuals, at-risk youth, and those facing homelessness or housing insecurity. This role requires a compassionate, organized, and resourceful individual who is committed to empowering others to reach their full potential. Work Environment and Expectations: This is a hybrid position involving three primary work settings: • Office Locations: In-person team meetings, training, and collaboration., • Remote Work (Home Office): Client meetings, documentation, and communication., • Fieldwork: Community-based client support, site visits, and assessments. Remote Work Expectations: • Availability: Be online and responsive during working hours, • Communication: Maintain clear and proactive communication via email and video calls. Regularly attend virtual meetings and team check-ins., • Productivity: Deliver work on time and uphold the same standards of performance and accountability as in-office roles., • Workspace: Have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace free from excessive distractions., • Security: Follow company policies regarding data protection, device security, and confidentiality while working remotely., • Collaboration: Be an active participant in team activities, project planning, and problem-solving discussions, leveraging digital tools effectively. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Note: Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. • Client Support & Advocacy, • Build strong, supportive relationships with clients to understand their needs, career goals, and individual challenges., • Advocate on behalf of clients with employers, community partners, and support networks to facilitate successful employment placements., • Draft, analyze, update, and approve individualized service plans focused on employment outcomes and client independence. Career Coaching & Job Readiness • Assist clients in identifying their strengths, interests, and suitable job opportunities., • Guide clients through the job search process, including resume writing, job applications, and interview preparation., • Provide training and support in professional communication, soft skills, workplace etiquette, and technical skill development. On-the-Job Support • Offer on-site and off-site job coaching to ensure clients understand job duties and can maintain employment successfully., • Support clients in building positive workplace relationships and navigating challenges that may arise on the job., • Teach clients how to use public transportation and develop routines that support punctuality and job retention. Case Management & Documentation • Manage a caseload of clients, maintaining accurate, up-to-date case notes and records in accordance with program requirements., • Monitor client progress and adjust service plans as needed to meet employment goals., • Report outcomes and maintain compliance with funding or regulatory agency requirements. Requirements: To be successful in this role, the individual must meet the following qualifications below. A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, child development, or counseling is preferred., • A minimum of three years of relevant experience is preferred. Skills: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and advocate for others., • Excellent organizational and case management skills., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems., • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain confidentiality., • Understanding of disabilities and their impact on independence and employment opportunities., • Ability to work under pressure and with individuals with high support needs. Proficiency in various computer applications such as email, word processing, calendar management, basic data entry, and virtual meetings. Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods., • Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds)., • Ability to travel locally for fieldwork, meetings, and community events., • Frequent use of computers, phones, and office tools., • Clear and effective communication in diverse environments., • Regular, predictable attendance is required. CERTIFICATES/LICENSURES: • Must have and maintain a valid CA Driver’s License and automobile insurance., • Must be able to obtain and maintain a background clearance.
