Immediate opening for a Product Development Engineer in Fort Worth, TX who possesses: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of product development experience, • Project management experience, • SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software experience, • Experience working with HVAC components, construction materials, or sheet metal preferred FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Product Development Engineer to support product design, testing, analytical studies, project management, product improvement, and new product development for HVAC-related products. This permanent role is responsible for leading design engineering activities from concept through implementation, managing project timelines, coordinating with manufacturing, operations, sales, and engineering teams, supporting testing and certification activities, and providing technical support for internal staff and customers. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering background, product development experience, project management skills, SolidWorks or 3D modeling experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to take ownership of projects from concept through launch and post-launch support. The selected candidate will be responsible for: • Planning and leading design engineering activities for prototyping, analytical studies, product development, and product improvement, • Supporting products used in the HVAC industry, • Designing new and existing products to complement and enhance product offerings, • Managing product development projects from concept through implementation, • Owning assigned products or product lists aligned with annual business goals, • Coordinating product launch timelines and staging launches according to business priorities, • Working through design, testing, validation, and product launch phases, • Supporting products after launch, including production issues and continuous improvement initiatives, • Managing project timelines, communication, stakeholder expectations, and priorities, • Working with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Sales to establish priorities, schedules, and action plans, • Supporting new and redesigned products, • Improving design engineering efficiency by enhancing established engineering processes, • Implementing new engineering procedures when required, • Addressing critical quality components of products during the design phase, • Providing technical support to internal staff, customers, external consultants, contractors, and related organizations, • Conducting and reviewing testing of new designs, • Interpreting test data and recommending or implementing corrective action based on results, • Interfacing with approval or certification agencies associated with product certifications, including AMCA, UL, or similar organizations, • Participating in quality review of existing and non-conforming products, • Maintaining accurate and current documentation on design changes and requests, • Managing multiple projects according to predetermined completion dates, • Working closely with marketing, sales, and manufacturing on new product concepts, features, and product requests, • Supporting HVAC components, including louvers, dampers, fire dampers, ceiling radiation dampers, and related products, • Supporting product development work involving sheet metal or construction-related materials as needed, • Taking initiative to identify project needs, ask questions, research solutions, and move work forward, • Performing other duties as assigned The selected candidate will also possess: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required, • 5+ years of product development experience preferred, • 3+ years of related engineering or product development experience considered, • Mechanical Engineering background strongly preferred, • Product development experience required, • Project management experience required, • SolidWorks experience preferred, • Other 3D modeling software experience considered, • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word experience required, • Mechanical aptitude required, • Strong analytical skills, • Strong problem-solving skills, • Strong time management and organizational skills, • Ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision, • Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and related documentation, • Good verbal and written communication skills, • Experience with HVAC components preferred, • Experience with construction materials preferred, • Sheet metal experience preferred, • Experience with product testing, prototyping, design validation, and product launch preferred, • Experience working with approval bodies such as UL, Intertek, AMCA, or similar organizations preferred, • Experience coordinating with manufacturing, operations, sales, marketing, and engineering teams, • Ability to support timelines, stakeholder communication, and project priorities, • Ability to take initiative and work in a fluid project environment, • Ability to recognize knowledge gaps and proactively ask questions or research solutions, • Basic electrical understanding preferred, including exposure to wiring junction boxes or actuators, • Ability to work onsite in Fort Worth, TX, • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, • Ability to work a hybrid schedule of up to 2 remote days per week after 90 days, based on department needs, • Ability to support a full-time, permanent opportunity Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods while reviewing CAD models, drawings, product documentation, test data, project timelines, reports, and engineering records, • Ability to communicate by phone, email, video meeting, and in person throughout the workday, • Ability to review technical drawings, product designs, specifications, testing documentation, reports, spreadsheets, and computer screens for extended periods, • Ability to use hands and fingers for computer work, 3D modeling, documentation, reporting, testing support, and standard engineering tasks, • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout office, lab, manufacturing, or testing areas as needed, • Ability to support physical activity related to setting up tests and preparing samples for testing, • Ability to work with HVAC products, components, samples, materials, and testing equipment as needed, • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office files, product samples, test materials, tools, or engineering supplies as needed, • Ability to work in an office, engineering, testing, and manufacturing support environment while following applicable safety procedures Salary Range: $95,000 to $100,000/year plus
