Job Description Installation & Field Service Technician – Healthcare Technology Company: Cogent Technology Resource Location: Metro Atlanta, GA Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly (W2) Pay: $25–$30 per hour, based on experience Additional Pay: Overtime eligible + bonus potential Vehicle: Company vehicle provided Build, install, and service the technology hospitals rely on every day. We install, service, and maintain the equipment that helps care teams stay productive and patient spaces stay operational. We are hiring an Installation & Field Service Technician to handle a mix of new installations and service work for healthcare technology systems, mobile carts, and clinical IT equipment. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, mechanically strong, professional with customers, and able to troubleshoot problems in the field without constant supervision. You will work inside active hospitals and clinical environments installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting healthcare technology equipment. Your responsibilities will include: • Installing healthcare technology systems on walls, ceilings, carts, and equipment platforms, • Assembling, adjusting, servicing, and repairing mobile carts and workstations, • Replacing parts, accessories, arms, keyboards, monitors, batteries, and other cart components, • Troubleshooting cart power issues, hardware issues, fitment problems, and accessory failures, • Performing cable management, cleanup, hardware adjustments, and final quality checks, • Diagnosing field issues and resolving as much as possible onsite before escalation, • Completing service documentation, time entry, notes, photos, and customer signoff, • Identifying site readiness or equipment issues early to avoid delays and rework, • Maintaining hospital-level cleanliness, professionalism, and safety standards, • Keeping a clean, organized company vehicle, tools, and work area What we’re looking for We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, mechanically capable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced field environment. Required qualifications: • At least 2–3 years of experience in one or more of the following:, • field service, • AV installation, • low voltage, • equipment installation, • mechanical repair, • carpentry, • commercial maintenance, • electro-mechanical service, • Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand tools, • Ability to troubleshoot basic electronics and equipment issues in the field, • Good workmanship and pride in clean, organized installs, • Strong communication and documentation habits, • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, • Must live in Metro Atlanta, • Ability to pass hospital-level background check and drug screen, • Must provide current vaccination records, excluding COVID, • Must receive annual flu vaccination, • Experience working in hospitals or clinical environments, • Experience servicing carts, mobile workstations, or mounted equipment, • Experience with battery swaps, powered equipment, monitor arms, cable management, and hardware adjustments, • Experience using service or job documentation systems, • Strong independent work ethic with good judgment in the field You’ll succeed here if you: • work well without constant supervision, • communicate clearly with customers and your team, • move with urgency but still produce high-quality work, • document your work accurately and on time, • stay polished and professional in hospital environments, • take pride in neat installs, clean repairs, and problem-solving, • show up consistently and take ownership of your work This role is not for someone who: • needs constant direction, • struggles with documentation or follow-through, • works messy or leaves unfinished details behind, • has trouble communicating professionally onsite, • is unreliable with attendance or pace Travel • Primary work is in Metro Atlanta, • Occasional travel within approximately a 6-hour radius, • Some overnight travel may be required Great fit for candidates with backgrounds in: • field service, • low voltage / AV installation, • biomedical support, • electro-mechanical repair, • equipment installation, • cart or workstation service, • commercial maintenance, • mechanically inclined carpentry or installation work Apply if you want: A stable, hands-on role where you can build a long-term career supporting healthcare technology in real clinical environments.
