Together We Grow – One Mission, One Team – With a Commitment to Serve Scope of Work: The primary purpose of this position is to perform manual labor and grounds maintenance tasks to support the upkeep of industrial, commercial, and public property at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. Duties include maintaining landscaped areas, operating grounds equipment, and supporting routine facility grounds maintenance operations. Seasonal Employment Disclaimer: This is a seasonal position expected to run through September 30; however, the season may end earlier depending on operational needs and mission requirements. There is no guarantee of continued employment beyond the seasonal period. Seasonal employees are not entitled to continued employment or preferential hiring for future positions. Responsibilities • Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, raking, weeding, mulching, and debris removal., • Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as riding and push mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and edging tools., • Assist with loading, securing, and transporting equipment or materials using company vehicles, trailers, or stake bed trucks., • Perform manual labor tasks such as raking leaves, removing debris, and maintaining landscaped areas., • Operate small equipment such as ATVs, utility vehicles, tractors, or similar grounds equipment as assigned., • Perform vegetation control activities in various terrain areas, including ditches, berms, slopes, and other outdoor work areas., • Use proper hand and arm signals to assist equipment operators when required., • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition., • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations., • Basic experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, manual labor, or related field preferred., • Ability to safely operate basic grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and similar tools is preferred., • Ability to perform routine labor tasks associated with grounds maintenance in accordance with contract requirements and worksite safety standards., • Must be able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team., • Must be able to read, write, and understand English to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers., • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the government worksite as required by the contract., • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and perform frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking for extended periods., • Work is primarily performed outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and uneven terrain., • Duties may require working on slopes, berms, ditches, or other irregular ground surfaces., • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
