Job Description Director of Operations & Human Resources Location: Burleson, Texas Position Type: Full-Time / On-Site Reports To: Executive Director About Harvest House Harvest House is a Christ-centered nonprofit that exists to restore hope and dignity by equipping families to overcome crisis and build long-term stability. We do this by pairing practical resources with relational support and spiritual encouragement, so help becomes lasting change. Position Summary The Director of Operations & Human Resources is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that the daily operations, facilities, people, systems, and organizational culture of Harvest House are aligned, healthy, and effective. This role directly oversees the Food Pantry, Storehouse, Facilities, and Logistics teams, and leads all HR systems and staff care practices. The Director ensures that people, processes, and resources are stewarded in alignment with Harvest House’s mission, vision, core values, and Christian identity. This leader must bring steadiness, clarity, and compassion—building strong systems and strong people while cultivating a culture rooted in restoration, excellence, and Christ-centered service. Core Areas of Responsibility 1. People Responsibilities (Teams, Culture, HR, Leadership Development) • Provide direct supervision and support to three operational teams: Food Pantry, Storehouse, and Facilities/Logistics, ensuring daily operations align with Harvest House’s mission and client outcomes., • Develop and maintain clear processes, SOPs, and policies that balance operational efficiency with mission-centered, relationship-driven service., • Evaluate and adjust staff roles, workflows, and job descriptions to strengthen client services, improve outcomes, and ensure alignment with Harvest House’s long-term vision., • Develop employees at all levels to embody and practice the core values of Harvest House—integrity, compassion, stewardship, restoration, and collaboration., • Lead all hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and disciplinary processes with clarity, legal compliance, and grace., • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, healthy communication, spiritual encouragement, and relational safety across all departments., • Support department leads through mentoring and leadership development, equipping them to manage their teams with confidence and consistency. 2. Resource & Operations Responsibilities (Facilities, Assets, Inventory, Systems, Compliance) • Oversee the functionality, maintenance, and safety of all Harvest House facilities, buildings, vehicles, equipment, and physical assets, ensuring they support mission goals and operational excellence., • Monitor logistical systems, vehicle scheduling, safety checks, repairs, and vendor relationships to maintain smooth operations and regulatory compliance (OSHA, emergency procedures, etc.)., • Manage organizational inventory systems, including Storehouse donations and Pantry resources, ensuring efficient flow, responsible stewardship, and alignment with internal controls., • Track operational expenses, purchasing, and resource utilization to support impact-first decision-making and protect financial integrity., • Maintain healthy and proactive vendor relationships, communicating needs to the Executive Director early and ensuring all operational activity complies with financial and organizational guidelines., • Oversee administrative and operational systems such as SOPs, scheduling, insurance communication, incident reporting, technology platforms, and regulatory documentation., • Identify operational challenges or gaps and initiate improvements that strengthen efficiency, safety, accessibility, and mission impact across all locations. Qualifications • Strong alignment with the mission, vision, and Christian values of Harvest House., • 5+ years of experience in operations, HR, organizational leadership, ministry, retail operations, and/or nonprofit management., • Demonstrated ability to develop teams, improve systems, manage people, and support a healthy workplace culture., • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a steady leadership presence.
