Job Description Job Title: Marketing Director Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer, Managing Partners FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt Location: Virginia Beach Corporate Office, with occasional travel to Roanoke, Eastern Shore, and Fairfax offices. Position Summary The Marketing Director leads the firm’s overall marketing strategy to support business growth, strengthen brand presence, and expand visibility across multiple regional offices. This role oversees a small team of 2–4 marketing assistants, including Spanish-language marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience in professional services or law firm marketing, understands compliance and reputation management, and is skilled in multi-channel digital marketing, content development, and campaign execution. This position requires a creative, data-driven leader who demonstrates professionalism, strong judgment, and the ability to guide a team in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership role. The Marketing Director manages brand standards, digital presence, and marketing operations while collaborating with leadership to ensure marketing priorities align with firm growth goals. This position is bonus eligible, with potential discretionary, performance-based incentives awarded at the firm’s discretion based on individual, team, and firm performance. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership • Develop, implement, and refine annual and quarterly marketing strategies that support growth targets, revenue goals, and brand positioning, • Analyze market conditions, competitive trends, and community demographics to identify opportunities, emerging threats, and new potential client segments, • Collaborate with managing partners to support business expansion and long-term growth planning, • Identify and recommend effective marketing approaches based on target market insights and firm needs Brand and Campaign Management • Oversee brand standards, messaging, and visual identity to ensure consistency across all locations and communication channels, • Direct the creation, execution, and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns, including digital, print, video, community outreach, and events, • Produce and manage marketing collateral, website updates, social media content, email campaigns, and promotional materials, • Ensure all marketing activity aligns with compliance and ethical requirements for legal advertising, • Plan, coordinate, and attend marketing events, community sponsorships, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and business development, • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with event partners, sponsors, and referral sources Digital & Data-Driven Marketing • Manage the firm’s online presence, including website, SEO/SEM, social media platforms, local listings, and online review management, • Utilize CRM, analytics dashboards, and marketing automation tools to monitor lead flow, tracking conversion rates and campaign ROI, • Prepare monthly performance reports with data-driven recommendations for optimization and growth, • Research and implement new digital tools, platforms, and strategies as appropriate Team & Budget Management • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team; promote a collaborative, high-performance culture, • Set clear goals, timelines, and accountability for individual and team deliverables while promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture, • Forecast, draft, and oversee the department’s operating budget, vendor contracts, and advertising spend to maximize ROI, • Coordinate with outside agencies, digital partners, and community organizations as needed Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with Intake, Operations, Case Management, and Leadership to ensure messaging and aligned organization priorities, • Support internal communication initiatives, employee engagement campaigns, recruiting marketing, and firm culture-building comms, • Perform all other related duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree highly preferred, • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive marketing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity, • Demonstrated experience managing brand strategy and marketing operations for a multi-location business (preferred), • Proven success in designing and executing marketing strategies that drive measurable results in revenue, lead generation, or brand growth, • Proficiency with digital marketing platforms (Google Suite, Meta Business, SEO/SEM tools), CRM/marketing automation, and analytics reporting software, • Strong copywriting, communication, and presentation skills, • Experience hiring, coaching, and developing marketing talent, • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution Key Metrics of Success • Elevates the firm’s brand reputation, • Provides clear direction, feedback, and coaching to marketing assistants, • Marketing strategies clearly align with current firm priorities and growth goals, • Generates new campaign ideas, messaging, or strategies that reflect an understanding of the personal injury landscape, • Maintains a proactive approach to reviews and public feedback, • Makes decisions that protect the firm’s brands, ethics, and public trust Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times, • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from events Working Conditions & Schedule • Office Hours: 9:00 am-5 pm, expect deviation of typical 9-5 to attendevents that may be on evenings/weekends (Note: Overtime is not a regular occurrence, and only upon approval), • Primary work location in Virginia Beach with regular collaboration across offices, • Frequent off-site visits to networking events, community partners, and other firm locations, • Small law firm environment requires flexibility and collaboration across role
