Overview The Operations Director (USA-Canada-LatAm), Global Fac, Gallagher Re, is a key member of the management team and is accountable to the Chief Operating Strategy Officer of Global Facultative, Gallagher Re. The primary responsibility of this role is to embed and oversee strong broker support capabilities and resources in situ in support of brokers locally, ensure clear and efficient hand-offs to servicing, claims and other support functions and drive continuous improvement and issue resolution. This position supports the development and execution of an ambitious strategic growth plan, with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth through an efficient scalable operating model. The role also holds responsibility for ensuring the division’s adherence to regulatory requirements. The role is a key member of the Global Fac Management Team and works alongside and in partnership with other Operations Directors (regionally aligned), the Servicing Director, Complex Claims Director and Servicing Manager (offshore) in particular. Key functional partnerships include Sanction / Financial Crime, Market Security, RQM, Partner Assurance (UK), Legal, Compliance and Product Owners of relevant systems / platforms. The successful candidate for this position will excel at building strong relationships with all regional division leadership, internal business partners and support functions, and key stakeholders across the division. The ability to lead with confidence while maintaining independence and objectivity will be critical. Clear, accurate, and decisive communication skills are essential for success in this role. Creativity is encouraged, particularly in relation to achieving the broader growth objectives of the enterprise. Proficiency in managing operational processes and driving continuous improvements in efficiency is imperative. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, effectively managing day-to-day demands while driving positive change within both the Operations team’s operations and the broader business. How you'll make an impact Driving Operational Efficiency & Process Standardization • Build operations and broker support partnering capabilities – primary focus is on ensuring efficient and effective operations support for production, enabling brokers with a platform, operating model and standardized global processes that helps to drive sales and support revenue and growth and strong client experience, • Identify opportunities for process efficiency improvement including systems development requirements, automation and AI working in partnership with relevant experts in the business and technology teams., • Oversee provision of insightful reporting, analysis, and KPIs to optimize operational performance., • Demonstrate a deep understanding of business operational challenges and opportunities, providing independent challenge to broker and management views, when necessary, on proposed investments and growth plans., • Take full ownership and oversight of the operation of all broker and operations support activities for allocated regions as defined below, • Work with the business as required to oversee the provision of data and adherence to associated processes and data quality requirements to ensure Finance receives all necessary information to carry out its analytical and reporting duties on time., • Supports the COSO in production of business plans and investment cases for operations, • Oversees the standardized onboarding and training of all new joiners in operations, broker support and also production i.e. ensures all new joiners are properly inducted in how we transact business, how we do things and what is expected of them in their roles Strategy • In support of ambitious growth goals, create sound operations and broker support planning strategies to develop a functional roadmap that is focused on peerless client service and is as cost effective as possible, as well as proposed areas of investment., • Enhance the operations team’s preparedness capabilities to respond to pending business decisions, enabling the business to evaluate uncertain outcomes effectively., • Work with COSO to monitor performance against overall long-term strategic operations plans., • Provide fair and balanced insights into current, emerging, and potential opportunities and issues., • Gets involved in projects as required and in support of COSO initiatives Data Controls • Hold accountability for ensuring strong GRe and Fac business unit data controls are in place including ownership, processes and controls around relevant data entry into our core broker related platforms e.g. WIN, Workbench (or equivalent) etc., • Lead and manage a team of operations and broker support professionals responsible for implementing strong operational controls., • Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to internal Gallagher reporting requirements., • Ensure consistency in approach globally, working with other stakeholders and provide guidance to regional / other teams regarding reporting and controls. Leadership • Ensure colleagues have career development plans that provide Gallagher with strong bench strength for future leaders and specialized individual contributors., • Deliver reviews and projects on time, within agreed budgets, and in accordance with the expectations of the global fac leadership team., • Works with other Operations Directors in Fac to ensure consistency of approach and standardized processes globally, • Work closely with Enterprise Solutions functions (or equivalent) and servicing / claims functions. Note that “operations” for the purposes of this is defined as the activities required in direct support of broker resources and production / placement activities. This includes managing and overseeing global activities and broker support teams (based on allocated regions) as respects: • Contracts / wordings / slip / certs / endorsement production and control, • Renewal submission management with clients / markets, • Quote management, • Client correspondence on quote / renewals / contracts, • Security approvals, • Sanctions / OFAC checking, • Onboarding of clients including KYC activities and TOBAs, • Creating UMR, • Creating client shell records in OpenTwins3 for servicing team to process and any necessary checklists, • Providing all documentation and hand-offs for servicing team and ensuring appropriate document storage protocols are adhered to, • Owning and handling client relationships locally together with query resolution as required, • Working with servicing and claims teams, ensuring line of sight to client status and issues on premium payments, claims payments, cash issues etc working with servicing and A&S/IBA teams as required as part of client relationship management, • Oversee (working with brokers) the appropriate set-up of client / deal data and required details in WIN, Workbench or other broking systems as required and to ensure this is done on a timely basis, • Compliance / SPOE / audit checks as required, • E&O monitoring and resolution About You Required: Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience required Preferred: • Experience in re/insurance industry, preferably broking operations, • Reinsurance or Fac knowledge is strongly preferred., • Proven ability to navigate and work within a large corporate environment and navigate a global matrix structure., • Significant management experience is essential., • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
