Job Summary: The Tooling & Injection Molding Coordinator is responsible for overseeing tooling operations and injection molding processes to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time production in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. This role leads molding and tooling teams, manages mold maintenance and changeovers, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to support OEM and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Tooling & Mold Management • Oversee mold maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance programs, • Coordinate mold changeovers, startups, and process validations, • Troubleshoot mold-related issues including flash, short shots, burns, warpage, and dimensional concerns, • Manage tool trials, new mold launches, and engineering changes, • Maintain mold history, PM records, and spare parts inventory, • Supervise daily injection molding operations to meet production, quality, and safety targets, • Ensure molding parameters are established, documented, and followed, • Support process optimization to reduce scrap, cycle time, and downtime, • Ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, and customer-specific requirements, • Lead, coach, and develop tooling and molding technicians, • Schedule labor and prioritize work orders based on production needs, • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams, • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, and 5S initiatives, • Support root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why) for tooling and process issues, • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout, and plant policies, • Support internal and external audits (OEM, IATF 16949) Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with hot runner systems, robotics, and automation, • Scientific molding or RJG training, • Familiarity with IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, and OEM customer requirements, • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certifications Core Competencies: • Injection molding and tooling expertise, • Leadership and team development, • Problem-solving and root cause analysis, • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration, • 401(k), • Dental insurance, • Health insurance Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: Xinquan Texas Automotive Interiors LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements: Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred, • 5+ years of experience in injection molding and tooling within automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing, • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling design, and mold maintenance, • Experience supervising or coordinating technicians in a manufacturing environment, • Ability to read and interpret mold drawings, part prints, and process documentation, • Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills Physical & Work Requirements: • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment, • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and on-call support, • Ability to respond to production issues with urgency
