Job DescriptionPosition Overview Posting Note: Our organization is currently in search of a full-time Inpatient Pediatric Psychiatrist to enhance our expanding Behavioral Health Service Line. The Psychiatry Division features a robust Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program and maintains strong academic partnerships with the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, and Creighton University School of Medicine. We are also actively involved in community collaborations aimed at enhancing access to high-quality mental health services for children throughout Arizona. In this position, you will become part of a collaborative and mission-focused inpatient team dedicated to delivering high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents. The role operates on a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, promoting both professional satisfaction and personal well-being. Key Responsibilities • Clinical Care:, • Patient Assessment:, • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents admitted to the inpatient unit., • Collaborate with medical, therapy, and nursing teams to review patient histories and perform diagnostic assessments., • Treatment Planning:, • Create personalized treatment plans that include medication management, psychotherapy, and family involvement., • Address co-occurring medical and psychiatric issues., • Intervention and Management:, • Provide crisis intervention for patients undergoing acute episodes., • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and modify treatment as necessary., • Collaboration and Communication:, • Multidisciplinary Teamwork:, • Work in close partnership with mental health therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care., • Engage in case reviews and team meetings to ensure cohesive treatment planning., • Family Support:, • Communicate with families to educate them about their child's diagnosis and treatment plan., • Provide guidance on how families can assist in recovery and well-being., • Training and Education:, • Offer mentorship or supervision to fellows, residents, and medical students., • Engage in continuing education to remain updated on advancements in pediatric psychiatry.Education & Licensure, • Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution., • Completion of a residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry., • Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or eligibility for certification)., • Valid state medical license to practice psychiatry.Position Duties, • Patient Care Services:, • Deliver patient care services for which you are clinically privileged, including but not limited to:, • Direct patient care services on both inpatient and outpatient bases., • Subspecialty consultations and follow-up., • Diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures., • Urgent/emergent care as necessary., • Aim for optimal patient and family-centered care., • Support the hospital's patient satisfaction goals as well as division-specific targets., • Adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards., • Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine or the latest experience-based approaches., • Divisional Responsibilities:, • Establish and strive to meet annual physician goals and objectives (individual, division, hospital)., • Support the medical education programs and activities of the division, including:, • Direct supervision of trainees and allied health professionals for inpatient and outpatient services when applicable., • Conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees., • Participate in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals assigned to the division., • Engage in postgraduate continuing educational activities of the division., • Support the research initiatives of the division, including those led by other members., • Contribute to the programmatic growth of the division., • Assist with satellite efforts of the division when appropriate., • Professionalism:, • Treat colleagues, employees, and customers with courtesy, dignity, and respect., • Promote a safe, cooperative, and professional healthcare environment., • Support the organization's mission, vision, and values, including family-centered care, excellence in clinical practice, leadership, collaboration, and accountability., • Other Activities:, • Assist the Division Chief in serving as a liaison to the professional community and the public as requested., • Conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside the organization, particularly if they support divisional clinical and educational initiatives., • Represent the organization in the medical and business communities and before the public in a professional manner., • Possess essential physical and mental skills to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities, including:, • Ability to communicate via telephone, computer, or other communication devices., • Capability to perform after-hours or night call responsibilities as needed., • Ability to work regular scheduled hours.
