We're looking for a dynamic Assistant General Manager to help lead our hotel operations while also taking charge of hotel sales initiatives at the Four Points by Sheraton - Raleigh Arena! In this role, you'll support the General Manager in day-to-day leadership, team development, and guest satisfaction—while also building relationships with local businesses, securing group bookings, and boosting our visibility. JOB SUMMARY: Assists the General Manager in all operations of the hotel including sales initiatives. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Assist with: department meetings, payroll, employee files, monitoring overtime, preparing weekly forecast, weekly work schedules, expense controls, and revenue generation, • Act as “Manager on Duty” and be responsible for hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager, • Assist General Manager with all hotel, administrative, and human resources duties, • Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies (Marketing Plan and Quarterly Action Plans), • Meet or exceed weekly/monthly sales activities (site tours, sales calls, tele-prospecting, and cold calls), • Solicit new business from key demand generators by segment, • Identify and maintain communications with the hotel’s key accounts and re-solicit repeat business, • Participate in weekly revenue meetings, • Hold front desk accountable for accurate account tracking in reservation system, • Review daily reports for new sales opportunities and analyze for revenue opportunities, • Supervise all duties and responsibilities of the Sales Coordinator, • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards to provide a safe work environment, • Mentor and train Front Office Supervisor, • Analyze and resolve work problems to achieve work-related goals, • Participate in all revenue management decisions and hold staff accountable for achieving revenue goals, • Knowledge of brand operating systems/ brand standards, • Knowledge of hotel accounting processes, • Knowledge of maintenance and operating procedures of all departmental equipment, • Knowledge of all emergency procedures and how to act on them., • Assist with daily credit report; review the bucket, and all A/R accounts, • Maintain online ordering of food, housekeeping, maintenance supplies, etc., • Ensure all employees have name tags and proper uniforms, • Review discrepancy reports daily and take necessary steps to resolve and eliminate discrepancies, • Properly code invoices (i.e. overtime, safety deposit boxes, master keys, banks, etc.) and audit them on a regular basis to ensure the accuracy and completeness, • Review all shift checklists and red book daily for completion and accuracy, • Review GSS/SALT/Heartbeat/GEI/Revinate weekly and address any service concerns with staff for improvement in order to ensure the highest quality service to the guests, • Assist in ensuring staff continues to learn the importance of excellent guest service and implement training programs, • Report any unusual occurrences or requests to General Manager immediately OTHER DUTIES: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
