Job Description Position: Maintenance Technician Location: Orlando, FL Shift: 1st Shift – Mon to Fri Employment: Contract Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience Position Description: We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and improvement of a commercial and industrial facility. This is an advanced, hands-on role for a highly skilled technician who can independently troubleshoot complex issues, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and provide guidance on maintenance best practices. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across multiple building systems, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role also includes collaboration with site leadership, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards. Key Responsibilities: • Perform advanced preventive, corrective, and general maintenance on facility systems and equipment, • Conduct routine system inspections (“shift rounds”) to identify issues, document performance, and recommend improvements, • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building automation systems, • Perform electrical installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment and controls, • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing and piping systems (interior and exterior), • Monitor and test building systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance, • Analyze system data and document work completed in the CMMS; recommend updates to preventive maintenance plans, • Support maintenance projects, including complex repairs, and provide oversight to subcontractors and service providers, • Order parts, create purchase orders, coordinate vendors, and participate in job and project meetings, • Communicate clearly with team members and customer staff regarding work scope, status, and completion timelines, • Adhere to all safety standards, including OSHA regulations and lock-out/tag-out procedures, • Support flexible schedules, including occasional weekend or off-hours work, as needed, • Perform other duties as assigned by site leadership Required Skills / Education Education & Training: • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Minimum of 2 years of accredited trade school or college training preferred (certificate or degree a plus) Experience: • 7+ years of hands-on experience in facilities or industrial maintenance, • Proven experience across multiple trades, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered Licenses & Certifications: • Valid state driver’s license, • Forklift and aerial lift certifications (fork truck, scissor lift, JLG), • Universal CFC certification required, • Any required state or national trade licenses must be maintained by the employee Technical Skills & Competencies: • Advanced troubleshooting and repair of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, automation), • Proficient with hand tools and small/large power tools, • Ability to disassemble and reassemble pumps, motors, fans, fixtures, and HVAC equipment, • Demonstrated expertise in at least one specialty area, such as:, • Electrical, • HVAC, • Plumbing, • Building Automation Systems, • Life Safety Systems, • Welding, • High-pressure boiler operations, • Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts, • Strong working knowledge of CMMS platforms and maintenance-related software, • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and mobile/tablet technology Communication & Problem-Solving: • Ability to read and interpret manuals, diagrams, drawings, and safety procedures, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to analyze data, calculate measurements, and apply basic algebra and geometry When you work with Seneca, you gain access to competitive pay, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plans, and a dedicated team that advocates for your success.
