Job Description Craftsmanship-driven metalwork, real autonomy, direct access to leadership, and room to grow with a shop that values family, quality, and pride in the finished product. MetalArc is hiring a Senior Fabricator for custom architectural and miscellaneous metalwork in Englewood, Colorado. This is a hands-on fabrication role first. We are looking for someone who can independently build from drawings, produce clean finished work, help train others, and act as a steady point-guard in the shop when needed. This is not a desk-manager role. You will be expected to fabricate, fit, weld, finish, solve problems early, and help keep work moving to a high standard. Our work includes stairs, rails, gates, canopies, ramps, fencing, structural support work, and custom one-off pieces across commercial, residential, stainless, aluminum, steel, and occasional brass projects. Much of the work is custom and detail-sensitive. Some weeks are shop-heavy; some require field work and install support. What success looks like In the first 90 days, a strong hire will: • own quality control on their work and help raise the bar around them, • reduce remake and rework through stronger planning, fit-up, and early issue flagging, • fabricate architectural and misc. metal projects from shop drawings, • handle layout, fit-up, welding, finishing, and final quality checks, • build stairs, rails, gates, canopies, ramps, fencing, and related custom assemblies, • identify missing dimensions, constructability issues, and RFI items before fabrication starts, • help assign or sequence work for small crews when needed, • train and correct less-experienced fabricators in the flow of work, • coordinate with field conditions and support installs as needed, • communicate clearly with ownership, teammates, installers, and site contacts about issues before they become rework, • represent MetalArc professionally on jobsites and in clients’ homes, • 5+ years of relevant fabrication experience, • strong stairs and rail fabrication experience, • strong blueprint reading and layout ability, • shop and field experience, • fitting, MIG, TIG, and FCAW capability, • strong finishing standards, • quality-control mindset, • rigging and forklift familiarity, • ability to work independently from drawings without constant supervision, • stainless and aluminum experience, • field measurement experience, • informal lead experience with small crews, • CAD familiarity, • install coordination, • project management awareness, • about 50% fabrication, • about 25% QA and final signoff, • about 15% planning and coordination, • not a pure installer role, • not a pure welder role, • not a manager who stays off the tools, • full-time, • Monday-Friday, • 40 hours expected, • consistent schedule preferred, with some flexibility in 5x8 or 4x10 structure, • overtime may be available as needed, but is generally voluntary, • mix of shop work and field/install work, • $28–$35 per hour, • project bonus opportunities, • 3% finder’s bonus, • medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, and family leave, • paid holidays after 30 days, • PTO after introductory period, • tool allowance MetalArc offers direct access to leadership, real autonomy, varied custom work, strong craftsmanship standards, solid equipment, and a shop culture built around family, pride in the work, and shared growth.
