Job Description Quality Control Inspector (Position) PFS is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Quality Inspector. This role is critical to ensure that PFS products meet strict quality standards at every stage of manufacturing. The Quality Inspector will conduct inspections, assist manufacturing staff with quality guidance, and support interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve efficient, compliant, and profitable results. Position Responsibilities: · Conduct 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections of prototype and production products. · Perform dimensional inspections of machined and fabricated parts, including checks for flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity, roundness, runout, and surface finish. · Verify fabricated meter quality through fit-up, parallelism, throat roundness, and overall length checks. · Use and interpret readings from micrometers, verniers, height stands, radius gauges, indicators, and other mechanical measuring instruments. · Perform nondestructive testing including VT (Visual Testing) and PT (Penetrant Testing). · Conduct PMI (Positive Material Identification), hardness testing, and saw-cut inspections for material traceability. · Maintain welder traceability records (heat numbers, weld wire, welder IDs) and ensure accuracy on NDE drawings. · Keep calibration logs, tools, and gauges current (machine shop hand tools, weld machines, hydro gauges, etc.). · Carry out final inspections of meters and welds, including dimensions, surface condition, coatings, tags, and flow direction. · Support third-party inspections (dimension verification, paint thickness checks, holiday testing, adhesion testing). · Inspect incoming materials and supplied parts (pipe roundness, thickness, length, flanges, and welded/machined items). · Conduct internal audits to maintain ISO 9001 compliance. · Assist manufacturing as needed and perform additional shop duties, including lifting up to 35 lbs. Skills & Qualifications: · Strong quality-first mindset with attention to detail and accuracy. · Team-oriented, with the ability to give constructive feedback and positive reinforcement. · Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision. · Experience in dimensional measurement and mechanical inspection methods. · Familiarity with ANSI Y14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). · Ability to interpret complex drawings and prepare detailed inspection reports. · Experience with inspection documentation software and SPC data collection (a plus). · Experience with VT and PT (or willingness to learn). · CMM experience (Mitutoyo Crysta with MCOSMOS software preferred) is desired but not required. · U.S. government, naval, or aerospace component inspection experience is a plus. · Must be able to meet requirements to obtain/maintain U.S. Security Clearance.
