Job Description We are seeking a Hydraulic Motor And Pump Mechanic/Technician to join our team! The hydraulic motor and pump mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, testing, and installing hydraulic pumps, motors, and related components used in industrial, mobile, and fluid power systems. Key Responsibilities • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems in hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and related components., • Disassemble, clean, measure, and evaluate hydraulic components to determine wear, damage, and required repairs., • Rebuild and repair hydraulic pumps and motors, including replacing seals, bearings, shafts, and other internal parts., • Assemble, align, and test hydraulic pumps and motors to ensure proper performance and leak-free operation., • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on hydraulic power units, motors, and pump systems (lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, inspections)., • Install hydraulic components on customer or in‐house equipment, including hoses, fittings, manifolds, and drive couplings., • Conduct field service calls to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic equipment at customer sites when required., • Use hand, power, and hydraulic tools, precision measuring instruments, and test stands to service and verify equipment performance., • Read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, parts lists, and work orders to perform accurate repairs., • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, parts used, test results, and service reports in accordance with company procedures., • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and housekeeping practices in the shop and in the field. Qualifications • Experience in hydraulic repair, pump/motor rebuilding, industrial maintenance, or related mechanical trades, • Solid understanding of hydraulic principles, pump and motor types (gear, vane, piston), and fluid power components., • Ability to safely disassemble, inspect, and reassemble hydraulic pumps and motors to manufacturer specifications., • Ability to read and work from schematics, drawings, and repair manuals., • Basic computer skills for work orders, parts lookup, and documenting service activities. Skills and Abilities • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for precision assembly and repair work., • Proficient with micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, torque tools, and hydraulic test equipment., • Problem‐solving and diagnostic skills to identify root causes of hydraulic failures., • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a shop or field environment., • Effective communication with supervisors, coworkers, and customers regarding findings, repair options, and equipment status. Physical Requirements • Regularly lift, carry, and move components and tools (often 50+ pounds) and work with heavy equipment., • Stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces or awkward positions for extended periods.
