What You’ll Do The Electrical Engineering Manager plays a critical leadership role within the firm, serving as the bridge between the Chief Engineer’s technical direction and day-to-day team execution. This individual oversees design quality, mentors engineers and designers, and ensures projects are delivered with precision, consistency, and adherence to established standards. The role requires both technical depth and operational discipline, balancing multiple concurrent projects while remaining responsive to clients and internal stakeholders. Beyond technical oversight, the Electrical Engineering Manager drives accountability, supports resource planning, and maintains momentum across high-volume, multi-site programs. Success in this position calls for a hands-on leader who can step into complex design challenges when necessary and complete plans and specifications while elevating team performance and safeguarding quality. Project work involves assessing and documenting existing site conditions, performing detailed engineering calculations, producing construction drawings and specifications, addressing code compliance requirements, and resolving site-specific design challenges. What You’ll Bring • Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering or electrical discipline; Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred (or ability to obtain), • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in building systems design (MEP), with strong knowledge of lighting and power of electrical systems, • Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site or high-volume commercial and retail programs, • Proven ability to oversee design calculations, construction documents, specifications, and code compliance requirements, • High proficiency in Revit, BIM, and AutoCAD; ability to design/draft, review and seal drawings if licensed, • Strong understanding of design quality, coordination, constructability, and design-build delivery models, • Experience leading engineers and designers, with a demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and elevate technical standards, • Ability to design and manage multiple concurrent projects, delegate effectively, and balance workload and resource allocation, • Comfortable interacting with architects, contractors, and end clients, with the ability to represent the firm in client meetings What Sets You Apart • Translate technical direction into clear team execution while upholding the firm’s quality standards as well the ability to complete the electrical plans of projects assigned to the team., • Balance speed with precision, remaining hands-on when needed to support design, problem-solving, and project delivery., • Operate effectively in a collaborative, high-accountability environment., • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, clients, architects, and contractors., • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills, establishing credibility quickly across technical and project teams., • Exhibit emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and a results-oriented mindset., • Build and sustain long-term relationships through a tactful, diplomatic, and approachable style., • Remain adaptable and solution-focused in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment., • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, synthesizing complex information into practical, actionable solutions.
