Epsilon Systems is seeking a full time Shipfitter Specialist in Mayport, FL. Summary: Repairs, modifies, installs and dismantles various shipboard hulls, bulkheads or decks. Designs and fabricates complex fixtures and jigs. Responsibilities: \n • Reports directly to the Steel Shop Foreman. Once assigned reports directly to the project Foreman in the performance of his/her responsibilities.\n, • Ensures that all Epsilon Systems Mission Readiness Group Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) are worn and that all damaged PPE is discarded.\n, • Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operation of the machine shop equipment prior to commencing the operation.\n, • Lays out material prior to performing machining operations to prevent possible errors.\n, • Fabricates parts to close tolerances ensuring finish requirements of the drawings are achieved.\n, • Maintains good housekeeping practices, turning off machines when not in use, disposing of waste properly, sweeping the area, etc.\n, • Ensures all tools listed on the "Required Tools List" are available for use within two weeks of your employment at Epsilon.\n, • Ensures that all requirements of the Epsilon Systems Mission Readiness Group Quality Assurance Manual are followed when invoked by QA Workbook, Work Package (WP), Work Instructions (WI) and/or other guidance given by management.\n, • Follows detailed repair procedures and instructions (e.g.; QA packages steps, RECs, CWPs, FWPs, TGIs etc.) required completing the production operations.\n, • Notify Foreman of unsatisfactory condition(s) identified during the production operation (i.e.; repair, modification, etc.).\n, • Reads and understands easy to complex terminology, blueprints, drawings and schematics to plan installation, modification or repair prior to commencing the process.\n, • Determines fit-up requirements for a wide range of structural components in accordance with required technical drawings, manuals and instructions.\n, • Installs complex deck, hull and bulkhead systems IAW required technical drawings, manuals and instructions.\n, • Designs, fabricates and installs complex fixtures, jigs, supports, and targets to ensure proper alignment during welding/ brazing procedures.\n, • Determines size and material requirements for system modification or installation.\n, • Ensures control and assume responsibility for Level I and material controls in accordance with Process Instruction.\n, • High School/GED.\n, • 8 years' experience.\n, • Qualified expert in all tasks required as a Shipfitter.\n, • Provide mentoring to junior craftsman.\n, • Must be able to understand and perform the set-up, alignment, and operation of all portable tools and hand tools used in the trade including plasma cutting machines and oxy/fuel torches.\n, • Must be an expert in the following: shipboard plate (hull, deck, bulkhead) systems (repair/installation practices, procedures, alignments and material requirements), blue print reading and interpretation, MILSPEC and SUBSAFE requirements.\n, • Ability to fabricate and install complex components as directed by Technical Work documents. Produces quality fit-ups in difficult or adverse conditions. Additional Specialized Training/Qualifications/Experience: Welding qualifications (GTAW/SMAW).\n, • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to military bases and various government facilities.\n, • Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional and loud noises.\n, • Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships).\n, • Able to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight.\n, • Must have manual and finger dexterity; able to grasp, manipulate, assemble small objects.\n, • Able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.\n, • Able to perceive and distinguish normal range of colors.\n, • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.\n\n Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
