Apply now for one of the best Indiana nursing jobs! • Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202 – Central Indiana healthcare hub with access to cultural attractions, sports, and green spaces, • Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract, • Start Date: January 5, 2026, • End Date: April 6, 2026, • Contract Duration: 13 weeks, • Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1660 – $1700, • Unit: Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU), • Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30), • Hours per Week: 36, • Patient Ratio: 1:3–4, • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required (6 weekends per 13-week contract), • Orientation: 48 hours, • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Indiana (IN) – required prior to start; temporary Indiana RN licenses may be available, • Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or ICU nursing experience, • Current ACLS and BLS certifications, • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program, • Clinical skills: cardiac monitoring, chest tube management, fresh tracheostomies, feeding tube care, post-op care, epidurals, non-titratable cardiac drips, IV insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP, • Preferred: Experience with total laryngectomy and Doppler flap checks, • Ability to float to Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU units as needed, • Willingness to precept or be shadowed by nursing students, • Two supervisor references required, • Preferred: Previous charge nurse experience and Cerner charting system proficiency, • Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps, • Travel RN position – local Indiana residents not eligible, • Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care to adults in a Surgical PCU setting with near-ICU acuity, • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage complex post-surgical patients (ENT, thoracic, general surgery, urology, medical overflow), • Administer and manage chest tubes, surgical drains, arterial and central lines, fresh tracheostomies, and laryngectomies, • Implement and titrate IV insulin protocols; manage non-titratable cardiac drips, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response, • Float to Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed, • Provide patient and family education and support throughout the care continuum, • Participate in self-scheduling and maintain flexibility to meet operational needs, including every other weekend shifts We believe in empowering your career.
