The Site Safety Manager ensures that the Company complies with all applicable federal, state, and local Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations. Under the direction of the Safety Director, this position is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation and auditing of safety policies across a wide spectrum of levels. This individual will directly interact with field employees, Company Management and customers. The Safety Manager will provide oversight management of all service HSE activities in their area, provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to all Site Safety personnel, provide all levels of the area management team with the services and technical advice needed for the proper administration of the Company's HSE and Injury/Illness Prevention Programs. This includes supporting the company's established network for the communication of HSE matters, managing HSE programs at jobsites, supporting other Site Safety Managers and developing and maintaining a strong HSE culture within the area. Must Have: CHST BCSP certification (required) or in process OSHA 510 certification (required) Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Assist the Safety Director with oversight and implementation of company safety processes on the jobsite, • Respond, oversee and facilitate appropriate injury management and incident investigation/ communication throughout for the jobsite, • Assist with Managing company's safety programs through development, implementation, and management of the Company's safety policies, • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety laws., • Provide oversight management for service HSE activities., • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to field personnel, and provide all levels of the construction management team with the services and technical advice needed for the proper administration of the Company's HSE and Injury/Illness Prevention Programs., • Collaborate with other managers in the division in developing and maintaining a strong safety culture within the service department while ensuring that the Company complies with all applicable federal, state, and local HSE regulations., • Work with the customer and site general contractor to ensure company is in compliance with their standards and procedures, • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for employees, customers and the public., • Act as the technical safety advisor to Company management and supervision and ensure that personnel comply with all relevant current labor laws and regulations as well as with new regulations affecting the industry and/or operations., • Perform frequent safety inspections and audits at the job site., • Perform frequent job walks and job/ site hazard analysis with supervision and sales staff as necessary for pro-active safety planning and decision-making purposes., • Perform incident investigations, reports, and help to develop corrective actions as necessary. Identifies key injury and/or safety trends and communicates such to management., • Ensure that the appropriate safety records are maintained., • Facilitate cultural change to drive Company safety performance, • Mentor and coach management towards achieving a positive and pro-active culture., • schedule, facilitate, and track safety training to ensure compliance with relevant regulations., • May act as company representative on issues relating to environmental protection concerns and interfaces as necessary with environmental regulatory agencies and audits project site compliance with environmental protection requirements., • Participate in educational opportunities, reads professional and technical publications, maintain personal networks, and participates in professional organizations to maintain technical knowledge., • Assumes additional responsibilities as directed by company executives., • Safety Manager is responsible for overall subcontractor safety program execution, management of subcontractor safety coordinators, sub-tier management, case & Care management, OCIP/CCIP claims, craft training, safety administration, work coordination, High risk activity planning and development, etc., • Minimum CHST BCSP Certification, • Minimum OSHA 510, • Relevant scope and team management experience, • First Aid, Narcan, Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR, and AED training, • Emergency procedures training, • NFPA 70E and LOTO competency and experience (Required for all MEP scopes of work and any scope of work that requires the use of LOTO), • Mental Health First Aid Training, • Minimum 5 years construction or maintenance experience in safety or operations, preferably with related industries such as mechanical contracting or similar commercial/industrial construction, • Minimum 5 years of Safety management experience, • Extensive working knowledge of Federal, State and local regulatory compliance requirements, and OSHA, • Extensive working knowledge of hazard identification and incident investigation., • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and office applications and Google and Apple applications., • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with field personnel, internal office staff, contractor clients and staff, as well as government agencies and officials., • Ability to design and deliver effective training and or other safety related presentations to company executives., • Ability to conduct research and develop statistical analyses to support management decision making., • Ability to develop data documentation and retrieval systems., • Ability to physically navigate jobsites; bending, standing, walking, squatting, climbing ladders, etc., • Must have a valid driver's license meeting company requirements., • Jobsite inspections may be performed in various weather conditions., • Ability to juggle competing priorities in order to achieve objectives in company's fast paced environment.
