Job DescriptionMechanical Design Engineer About the Role Engineering firm in DFW is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to take a key technical role in the design of building mechanical and plumbing systems across diverse project types including educational, healthcare, government, commercial, and industrial facilities. You will set design direction, lead mechanical engineering efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with clients, architects, and internal project teams. Key Responsibilities Establish and maintain mechanical design criteria that align with client requirements, project scope, and all applicable state, local, and federal codes. Design a wide range of mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronics, steam, plumbing, natural gas, and compressed air. Maintain up to date knowledge of industry best practices, mechanical system technologies, and relevant codes/standards; provide guidance to the project team as needed. Prepare detailed construction documents, drawings, and BIM models using Revit MEP (required) or similar CAD tools. Develop mechanical specifications, design analyses, and cost estimates. Lead coordination of mechanical design with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines. Review and oversee floor plans, site plans, and technical drawings for accuracy and constructability. Ensure accurate QA/QC throughout project phases. Manage mechanical engineering tasks for small to mid sized projects; support larger project teams as a senior technical resource. Participate actively in construction administration, including site observations, responding to RFIs, and reviewing submittals. Represent B&H Engineers in client meetings during design and construction. Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship to graduate engineers and junior staff. Help balance workload, manage priorities, and support efficient use of budgeted hours. Communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and vendors. Contribute to continuous improvement of internal standards, templates, and procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Professional Engineer (PE) or active EIT with clear path toward license Minimum 5+ years of experience designing HVAC systems for commercial and/or industrial facilities. Revit MEP proficiency is required Experience using HVAC load calculation software (e.g., Carrier HAP). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with building, mechanical, and energy codes (ASHRAE, IMC, etc.). Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively track time and budgets. Job Description The Quality Engineer ensures the quality of Power Generation solutions, serving as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing and evaluating manufacturing processes, quality programs, and product standards, while recommending improvements.
