Job DescriptionSalary: What is this job? The Shift Supervisor manages the overall order and operations of Everstands residential and community-based programs. Provides leadership, coaching and direction to staff and families. Understands and implements policies according to agency standards and enforces policies across our continuum of care. Effectively works as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrates excellence in problem solving, communication, and documentation. Serves as a liaison to our community partners by maintaining positive professional relationships What is this company? Required Education and Experience • A bachelors degree with 3 years of supervisory or management experience., • A Masters Degree with one supervisory or management experience. What does the Shift Supervisor do specifically? • Model and act in accordance with Everstands core values., • Demonstrate and practice trauma informed leadership., • Provides accurate, detailed and timely information to the designated Administrator on Call; reporting any health and safety concerns, environmental accidents, motor vehicle accidents, arrests, serious hospitalizations and major campus or community incidents., • Provides accurate, detailed and timely information to the designated Administrator on Call when requesting to activate the therapist on call. Contacts the TOC with accurate and detailed information related to the youths behavioral health emergency., • Ensures that the campus is operating within the contractual staffing ratios for each program area and/or to meet the current safety needs. Reports attempts to find coverage to the Administrator on Call when requesting to activate the Mandatory on Call Staff, utilize OT or initiates a freeze. Completes the Overtime Utilization Form each time an AOC approves the use of OT., • Completes rounds throughout the campus providing oversight, coaching, and guidance to the staff and youth. Provides feedback to staff regarding health and safety concerns. Documents health and safety concerns on the Campus Supervisor Shift Report. Checks the logbooks during these rounds to ensure that documentation is current and consistent with the current activity., • Contributes to the prevention and management of challenging behaviors by implementing the Everstands Behavior Management and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques., • Participates in a pre-shift huddle with the exiting Campus Supervisor and Lead Treatment Support Specialists., • Ensures accurate medication administration, documentation and safe storage of medication in accordance with the guidelines of the State of Maryland. Assigns a CMT to assist with Medication Administration in the absence of a nurse., • Communicates medical emergencies to the Nurse on Call. If the youth needs off site treatment, in the absence of the nurse, gather the relevant paperwork such as the health visit form, face sheet, and a copy of the insurance cards. Communicates the follow-up needed through email to the youths treatment team., • Manages the assigned Campus Supervisor emergency vehicle to ensure it is available as needed. Assists staff with making sure vehicles are rotated and/or shared to help support the transportation needs of the campus., • Responds to after hour emergency referrals. Facilitate admission into the group or community setting if the youths treatment needs can be met., • Conducts walkie talkie checks and community-based check-ins as outlined, in the Campus Supervisor Overview Report., • Receives prior approval from the Administrator on Call prior to complete an emergency search using a security wand. Provides oversight during time when a security wand is approved to be used for an emergency search. Documents the approval and use of the wand on the Search Form., • Conducts health assessment forms in the absence of the nurse, following a physical intervention. Ensures the youth is seen by the nurse, for an assessment, following a restraint, if the nurse is present., • Ensure the Lead Treatment Support Specialist complete the Debriefing form, following a physical intervention., • Ensure the Lead Treatment Support Specialist completes the AWOL debriefing form if an AWOL report is filed., • Submits one-hour information sheets for DJS incidents reports, makes notifications to parents/guardians and placement agencies for incidents that require police involvement, injury, hospitalization, environmental emergencies, motor vehicle accidents and other major incidents., • Promotes effective communication through the timely submission of documentation. Submits the Campus Supervisor Report at the end of each shift. Submits thorough and accurate SIRS, with supporting documentation at the end of each shift., • Provide written documentation addressing policy violations that occur in the absence of the staff assigned supervisor., • Receives after hour emergency calls from Treatment Foster Parents. Obtains detailed information to update the Administrator on Call of the situation. Activate the Therapist on Call or Lead Treatment Support Staff as indicated by the AOC., • Professionally interact both by phone and in person with parents/guardians, placements agencies, lawyers, police, community partners, and others invest in the care of the youth we serve. Where is this job based? Is this an in-person position? This is a full-time, in-person position. Everstand's preference is that this role is based out of our Baltimore headquarters (where all other members of the executive team work). What does the benefits package look like? • Accrue vacation at the rate of 3 weeks per year, plus two floating holidays to use, plus nine paid holidays when Everstand is closed., • Paid sick and bereavement leave, • Up to 3% annual match to retirement contributions, • This position requires you to drive Everstand vehicles.
