American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/15/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in Adult ICU Pods within a hospital-based, acute care setting, • Unit includes SICU, MICU, and Trauma ICU, with a total of 120 beds, • Patient population includes medical, surgical, and trauma cases such as sepsis, GI bleed, DKA, transplant, severe trauma, and post-operative care, • RNs required to read and interpret their own cardiac strips, • Ventilators used include Cervo I, Jet, and Oscillator, • Bedside procedures include bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, and hemodialysis catheter placements, • 12-hour night shifts, self-scheduling with scheduler oversight, every third weekend required, • Floating required across all ICU units, MedSurg/Tele, and potentially to another campus, • Uses Cerner EMR, experience preferred, • RNs are expected to perform and maintain competency in sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, • Team includes 24/7 Intensivist and Respiratory Therapy support, • Scrub color is navy, • Holiday coverage required as per core staff rotation, • First-day SIMs Lab includes pass/fail skills assessments; failing may result in termination from assignment, • Returning candidates must not have been directly employed by the health system in the past year, • Men are required to be clean-shaven for fit testing, • Natural hair color and no facial piercings required as part of the dress code, • Float radius and housing requirements apply\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license in hand at submission, • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, • Experience in a 600+ bed teaching facility required, • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS, • Must have Level 1 trauma experience, • Must pass dysrhythmia (Relias) and sterile technique (SIMs Lab) exams prior to acceptance and on Day 1 orientation, • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration, • Professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
