Job DescriptionDescription: Job Summary: The purpose of the Junior Leasing Agent position is to support MIMCO’s Leasing Agents by assisting with tenant outreach, market research, deal coordination, and administrative support related to leasing activities across the management portfolio. This entry-level, development-focused role is designed for individuals seeking to build a career in commercial real estate leasing. The Junior Leasing Agent will work closely with senior team members, department leaders, and other internal departments to help drive tenant prospecting efforts, organize leasing information, support active deals, and ensure leasing agents can operate efficiently while in the field. This role provides hands-on exposure to retail commercial leasing fundamentals, MIMCO processes, and best practices through direct mentorship and on-the-job training. This position exists in a temperature-controlled office environment with regular in-field activity throughout the markets in which MIMCO does business. Requirements: Essential/Key Functions: • Support and learn from experienced leasing agents and department leaders through daily collaboration and deal involvement., • Assist leasing agents with information gathering (shopping center due diligence through use of Yardi) and operational tasks to support active lease transactions and prospecting efforts., • Learn MIMCO’s leasing standards, retail leasing fundamentals, and internal workflows through hands-on experience and guided training., • Conduct outbound tenant outreach efforts, including cold calling, emailing, and in-person visits to local businesses and shopping centers., • Assist with identifying, researching, and qualifying prospective tenants aligned with MIMCO’s retail portfolio strategy and individualized business plans for specific assets., • Track and organize outreach activity, responses, and prospect information in leasing tools and reports., • Conduct market research on local retailers, tenant categories, competitors, and leasing trends within MIMCO’s existing markets and prospective new markets., • Assist leasing agents by gathering, preparing, and organizing deal-related materials, including property information, tenant background details, and internal summaries., • Coordinate with internal departments such as Property Management, Maintenance, Construction, and Legal to support leasing efforts., • Provide logistical and coordination support when senior leasing agents are in the field touring space or meeting with tenants., • Help ensure accurate information flow and follow-ups related to tours, proposals, and ongoing negotiations., • Attend local commercial real estate events, networking functions, and industry gatherings to begin building a local CRE network., • Represent MIMCO professionally at events, tours, and meetings alongside senior leasing team members., • Demonstrate initiative in learning the retail leasing business and pursuing professional growth opportunities., • Maintain accurate leasing activity logs, prospect tracking, and documentation as assigned., • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and regular check-ins as required., • Perform duties in a manner that prevents errors and omissions., • Comply with all MIMCO policies and procedures., • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary., • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Minimum (Required) Qualifications: Education · High School Diploma or equivalent required · Associate or bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas (Preferred, but not required): o Business Administration o Real Estate o Finance o Marketing Experience · No prior commercial real estate experience required. · Experience in customer service, sales, retail, hospitality, or other client-facing roles preferred. · Prior exposure to cold calling, outbound sales, or business development is a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to engage with new people regularly. · Comfortable making outbound calls and conducting in-person outreach. · Clear verbal and written communication skills. · Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. · Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. · Strong work ethic and positive attitude. · Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). · Requirement to learn leasing software and internal systems (Yardi Voyager experience a plus, not required). · Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance. · Ability to travel locally for property visits, outreach, and events. · Ability to work flexible hours as needed. · Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
