Position maintains detailed understanding of project specifications and all requirements necessary for appropriate trades support, ensuring safe and efficient production in ship repair/industrial fabrication operations. Provides oversight to qualified trades workforce & trades supervision and is responsible for meeting overall schedule, budget, quality, and safety goals of work assigned. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelors/Registered Apprentice (grad) + 2 years relative trades experience (or HS + 6 years trades experience) and 2 years of prior supervisory experience., • Ability to understand job specifications, drawings, and corresponding technical references years supervisory experience., • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with employees/leadership/customers and prepare/deliver written reports and correspondence., • Must have knowledge of weight testing in accordance with specified technical manuals for equipment such as cranes, davits, winches, anchors, anchor chains, shafts, and propellers., • Must be familiar OSHA and NAVSEA standards., • Must demonstrate proficiency in general mathematics and trigonometry., • Must have ability to understand job specifications, drawings, and corresponding technical references., • Exposure to or experience supporting multiple trades is highly preferred, • 4 years overall supervision experience for the trade to be supervised is highly preferred., • Knowledge of inspection procedures for structural components, booms, jibs, gears, drums, sheaves, blocks, hooks, operating mechanisms, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, hydraulic cylinders, wire rope, and operational aids preferred., • Crane signaling certification (mobile and overhead) preferred., • Construction and crane company experience is highly preferred., • Able to schedule multiple activities., • Position may require hours beyond a standard work week to support business operations, as needed., • Limited travel may be required, 10% or less.
