Job Description Director of Technical Services – Houston, TX The main duties and responsibilities of a Director of Technical Services: Executive Team Support • Support the executive team and its goals and objectives towards a unified brand., • Maintain a municipal non-revenue database of activities and documented approvals in CRM system., • Create technical help letters and information for customers with the assistance and approval of engineering., • Review construction documents for compliance and product selection for sales efforts., • Establish technical procedures for all technical service sales support activities and products., • Create and submit product submittals for approval and then follow up involving sales force., • Develop sales tools to assist in training and selling efforts., • Assist sales force in creating submittal packages for project and municipality approvals., • Presentations / Lunch and Learns, • Technical support, • Trade show support, • Assist Sales in customer selling and sales call presentations as needed., • Assist in National and regional sales meetings., • Assist in customer tours., • Maintain CSR training binders., • Review specifications for construction projects for compliance or submittal alternatives., • Technical Support, • Outside Sales training; presentation, sales roll play, Product hands on familiarization, Industry history and knowledge, history & brand., • Inside Sales training; CSR binder, Industry history and knowledge, Product applications, Product substitution, Product hands on familiarization, history & brand., • Maintain and keep records of all training activities., • Customer training presentations, • Assist Sales and Management in creating standard presentation., • Act as a liaison between Engineering Department and Inside/outside sales., • Manage internal and external technical specifications, submittals, and certificate of conformance in conjunction with engineering., • Assist engineering with sales input for designs, modifications, testing or research., • Oversee, monitor, and act as the interface on all warranty/liability issues in CRM system. Coordinate with Engineering for corrective action and dispositions., • Job site visits and evaluation of product installations with claims., • 5 years Engineering experience, • 5 years Sales experience, • 5 years’ experience in the waterworks industry, • Proficiency of CRM systems, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, • Experience in internal and external presentations for groups of all sizes., • Ability to work in testing lab and knowledge of utility construction field operations., • The position is based at corporate office in Houston, TX and requires occasional travel.
