If you are passionate about driving excellence in the energy sector, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity." ------ Project Manager - Surface/Production Facilities / Madrid ------ Location: Madrid, Spain Job Summary: The Project Manager - Surface/Production Facilities will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of surface and production facility projects across North Africa (Algeria, Libya, etc.). This role focuses on gas/oil processing plants, separation units, compression stations, and associated infrastructure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory standards. Project Leadership & Strategy • Develop and execute project strategies for surface/production facilities, aligning with business objectives, HSE standards, and local regulations in North Africa., • Define project scope, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation for facility construction, upgrades, or debottlenecking., • Lead FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) phases for new or existing facilities. 2. Engineering & Technical Oversight Oversee engineering design, procurement, and construction of surface facilities, including: • Gas/oil processing plants (separation, dehydration, sweetening)., • Compression and pumping stations., • Utility systems (power, water, waste treatment). Review and approve technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications for facility design. 3. Procurement & Vendor Management • Lead procurement strategies for equipment, materials, and services, ensuring cost efficiency and local content compliance (e.g., Algerian Law 08-01)., • Manage vendor and contractor performance, including quality control, delivery schedules, and contract compliance., • Coordinate with logistics teams to optimize supply chain and customs clearance for North African projects. 4. Construction & Commissioning • Supervise construction, installation, and commissioning of surface facilities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and schedule., • Conduct site inspections, progress reviews, and HSE audits during construction., • Lead pre-commissioning, start-up, and performance testing of facilities, including punch list closure and handover to operations. 5. HSE & Compliance • Ensure compliance with HSE standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, local regulations) and environmental permits for facility operations., • Implement risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and emergency response plans for surface facilities., • Monitor emissions, waste management, and sustainability in alignment with North African environmental laws. 6. Stakeholder & Government Relations • Collaborate with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders to secure permits and address concerns., • Engage with operations, maintenance, and HSE teams to ensure smooth facility handover and operational readiness., • Represent the company in client meetings, technical reviews, and regulatory audits. 7. Budget & Financial Control • Manage project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines., • Track expenditures, variances, and forecasting for facility projects., • Optimize capital efficiency and lifecycle costs for surface facilities. 8. Digital Transformation & Reporting • Implement digital tools (e.g., BIM, project management software, IoT monitoring) to enhance project efficiency., • Prepare progress reports, KPI dashboards, and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders., • Promote innovation in facility design and construction (e.g., modularization, automation). 9. Team Leadership & Development • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors, and operations personnel., • Develop training and mentorship programs for local engineers and technicians., • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team. Qualifications: Education: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering, or related field., • 10+ years in project management, with a focus on surface/production facilities (oil/gas processing, gas modular installations, compression, utilities)., • 5+ years in a leadership role managing EPC projects in North Africa, the Middle East, or emerging markets., • Project management (planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management)., • Facility engineering (process design, P&IDs, equipment specification)., • Procurement and vendor management (local content, contract negotiation)., • Construction and commissioning oversight (quality control, HSE compliance)., • Digital tools (BIM, Primavera, SAP, IoT monitoring)., • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities., • Cross-cultural collaboration and stakeholder management., • Fluent in English (mandatory), • Spanish (highly preferred)., • French and/or Arabic (highly preferred for North African operations).
