Job Description Haitong Bank’s Corporate and Project Financing team in Madrid is a dynamic group of professionals with a front-office mandate to deploy the Bank’s balance sheet into primary and secondary debt investments. We focus mainly on high-yield but also opportunistic investment-grade transactions across sectors, covering both secured and unsecured debt. Typical structures and uses include sponsor-back financing, corporate loans, LBOs, syndicated loans, capex financing, miniperms, asset-backed financing, and tailor-made solutions. This role offers a rare chance to gain end-to-end exposure in a highly entrepreneurial environment, from origination to execution, working directly with clients, senior management, risk teams and international colleagues. As an Associate, you’ll be an integral part of the team with responsibilities across the full transaction cycle: • Origination & Pitching: Prepare pitches and financial analyses for prospective clients, while recurrently analysing multiple debt investment opportunities to align with the Bank’s risk framework and appetite., • Financial Modelling & Analysis: Build and maintain financial models, conduct sector/credit analysis, and assess profitability of opportunities., • Credit Process: Collaborate with Risk and Rating teams to assign internal ratings based on S&P methodologies and prepare investment materials for senior Credit Committees., • Deal Execution: Support negotiations, review legal documentation, coordinate due diligence, and manage closing and disbursement., • Portfolio Management: Monitor executed transactions and actively participate in secondary opportunities. Profile • Experience: 3–5 years in Leverage Finance, Project Finance, Debt Advisory, Private Credit, DCM or Corporate Finance (M&A / PE)., • Skills:, • Strong financial modelling and accounting skills., • Solid understanding of credit analysis, debt structuring, and risk assessment., • Ability to handle complex documentation and negotiations., • Mindset: Proactive, self-driven, detail-oriented, and commercially minded., • Languages: Fluency in Spanish and English required; any additional language will be highly valued.
