At ORTEC ENGINEERING SPAIN , we are reinforcing our digitalization and Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) teams to develop advanced artificial intelligence solutions applied to complex industrial systems. We are looking for an AI Engineer to support the implementation of predictive and data-driven solutions within aerospace and defence programmes, transforming operational and maintenance data into intelligent support strategies and life-cycle optimization tools. Job Description As part of our ILS and digital engineering team, you will contribute to the development of AI-based solutions supporting maintenance, reliability and operational performance. Your main responsibilities will include: Development of AI-based models for predictive maintenance, fault detection and performance analysis. Creation and support of data pipelines, analytics tools and machine learning components integrated within the ILS environment. Analysis of operational and maintenance data to improve life-cycle support strategies. Collaboration with ILS and engineering teams to transform raw data into decision-ready insights. Contribution to digital tools for maintenance planning, simulation and operational forecasting. Evaluation and integration of emerging technologies (AI, ML, advanced analytics, automation) to enhance supportability solutions. Profile We are looking for professionals with the following background: Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related technical field. Proven experience in AI / Machine Learning / Data Science, either industrial or through strong academic and project-based experience. Solid understanding of ML concepts such as classification, regression, time-series modelling, anomaly detection, clustering and forecasting. Experience working with real system data (sensors, logs, maintenance records or operational datasets). Strong programming skills in Python and common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow). Knowledge of APIs and version control tools (e.g., FastAPI/Flask, Git). High level of English (C1 minimum). Availability for occasional European travel. Knowledge of ILS / supportability concepts is considered a plus, but not mandatory. Specific ILS training will be provided. Valuable Additional Skills Experience in R&D project environments. Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP), Docker or MLOps practices. Experience with NLP/LLMs, Computer Vision or advanced data pipelines. Experience applying AI to maintenance, logistics, reliability or operations of complex systems (aerospace, defence, rail, energy, automotive). Job Requirements Hybrid position (remote + on-site) based in Madrid or Seville, with possible travel within Europe.
