Role Overview The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will be a key contributor to the UK business by driving both inbound and outbound lead generation initiatives. Working closely with Sales, Business Development Managers (BDM), Marketing, Solution Architects, and Operations teams, the SDR will generate Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs), helping to build and accelerate the sales pipeline. This is a high-activity role requiring resilience, professionalism, and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable conducting outbound calls, handling objections, and engaging senior stakeholders across industries. Key Responsibilities 1️⃣ Prospect Identification & Research • Develop a clear understanding of Alibaba Cloud’s positioning and value proposition across key industry verticals, • Conduct LinkedIn and market research under BDM guidance, • Identify high-potential accounts within defined target sectors, • Craft compelling outreach messages tailored to each vertical, • Conduct outbound telemarketing and proactive outreach into target verticals, • Engage prospective clients regarding Alibaba Cloud solutions, • Qualify opportunities using BANT methodology (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline), • Arrange qualified meetings for Account Executives and BDMs, • Support client and partner event registration activities in the UK, • Conduct outreach to drive event attendance, • Perform reminder calls and post-event follow-ups, • Conduct qualification of attendees for pipeline conversion, • Assist with database cleansing and data management for local client lists Requirements • Previous sales experience, preferably in B2B IT, cloud, or technology environment (SDR/BDR/Inside Sales background preferred), • Interest in the technology sector and knowledge of the UK and global IT landscape, • Education in technology or computer-related discipline is advantageous but not essential, • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, • Comfortable speaking with senior executives in multinational organisations, • Resilient and self-motivated, with the ability to manage rejection constructively, • Quick thinker with strong adaptability across different personalities and situations, • Highly organised and proactive, • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is beneficial, • Fluent French, and English or Chinese with working proficiency Compensation & Benefits • Competitive base salary, • Performance-based bonus (aligned with MQL/SQL generation and overall business contribution), • Structured career progression toward Account Executive or Business Development roles, • Exposure to international cloud transformation projects, • Collaborative and multicultural working environment
