Planning Support Officer Location: Hybrid (Remote/Office-based) Contract: Temporary (6 months) Hours: Up to 22 hours per week (flexible days; must cover 2 afternoons from Monday/Wednesday/Friday) Rate: £18.89 per hr. via PAYE / ₤24 per hr. via Umbrella About the Role Our client is looking for a Temporary Planning Support Officer to provide administrative support within the City Development team, assisting in the processing of planning applications and related activities. Key Responsibilities • Support officers managing development projects through a range of administrative duties, • Use, prepare, and maintain planning databases (UNIFORM), • Arrange consultation and publicity for planning proposals, • Provide information on development projects to customers and stakeholders (including printing documents, plans, and correspondence), • Respond to general planning and property-related enquiries via phone, email, and in person, • Assist in recording new demand into the system and produce performance monitoring data, • Deliver excellent customer service in response to all enquiries Requirements • Educated to GCSE level (including Maths and English Grade C or equivalent), • Strong communication skills and ability to deal with the public, • Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work to tight deadlines, • Strong teamwork skills, • Flexible approach to working hours to meet service demand, • Commitment to high standards of customer care Essential Experience • Extensive experience using UNIFORM (planning database), • Experience within the Planning sector, • Experience handling planning applications (pre/validation preferred), • Experience dealing with the general public via phone and email Additional Information If shortlisted, A recruiter from the team will reach out for an initial pre-screening discussion.
