Machine Minders x 3 (Level 2) sought to join an award-winning, £multimillion turnover food manufacturing plant in Bilston. They are a privately owned company who supply numerous sectors including foodservice, retail, wholesale and catering, both in the UK and abroad. \n Afternoon shift: 2pm-10.30pm Tuesday to Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday. \n The Role: \n As a Machine Minder, you will take ownership of machinery performance, remain constantly engaged with production, eliminate avoidable downtime, proactively drive preventative maintenance activities and ensure production lines achieve maximum efficiency throughout the shift. \n Your duties will include: \n\n • Ensure that the production line is operating smoothly and correctly, and any issues are reported\n, • Perform start-up and close down check procedures\n, • Complete routine maintenance of specific line equipment\n, • Analyse, interpret and report live data for performance evaluation\n, • Deliver the department daily plan\n, • Maintain, monitor and achieve operational targets\n, • Monitor and improve product quality\n, • Complete line quality checks (CLS)\n, • Perform production process checks in the department\n, • Continuously identify and implement workplace improvements\n, • Maintain and promote measures that support waste minimisation and sustainability in operations\n, • Support internal and external audits\n, • Support GMP in the department\n, • Ensure that photographic standards are adhered to and that customer specifications are followed\n, • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of production\n, • Work as part of a team and effectively communicate with all colleagues, Supervisors and Management staff\n, • Keep training records up to date\n\n This is not a maintenance engineer role, but candidates must have a solid understanding of machinery, tooling, machine performance and production processes. You will take ownership of machinery performance, maximise line efficiencies, minimise downtime and proactively support preventative maintenance activities. \n Your skills & experience as Machine Minder: \n\n • Experience in food manufacturing as a Machine Minder, Production Technician or Line Technician or similar\n, • Strong understanding of production machinery, tooling and line performance.\n, • Experience troubleshooting machinery issues in a live production environment.\n, • Knowledge of preventative maintenance (PPM) and machine inspections.\n, • Experience monitoring yields, waste, pack rates and machine efficiencies.\n, • Extremely hands-on, spending the majority of time on the factory floor.\n, • Understanding of how machines work, able to quickly identify and resolve performance losses.\n, • Proactive, able to spot potential issues before they result in downtime.\n, • Strong focus on machine efficiency, yield improvement and waste reduction.\n, • Comfortable working at pace, constantly moving between lines and responding to changing production priorities.\n, • Individuals who take ownership and accountability for machinery performance within their designated areas.\n, • Eager to learn, develop technical knowledge and progress career.\n, • Passionate about improving machine reliability, efficiency and operational performance.\n, • Ability to train and coach Machine Minders and production operators.\n\n Pay & Benefits: \n\n • £13.13 per hour, increase in rate after 6pm, further increase for Saturdays\n, • £13.88 per hour evening rate (6pm onwards)\n, • £15.24 per hour Saturday rate\n, • £16.41 overtime rate\n, • 39.5 hours per week\n, • PM Shift is 2.00pm-10.30pm Tuesday – Friday & then Saturday: 9am-5.30pm\n, • 28 days holiday\n, • Rewards scheme \n, • Employee discount \n, • Onsite parking \n, • Safe working environment \n, • Employee progression opportunities \n, • Referral programme \n, • Company pension \n, • Discounted or free food\n\n Machine Minders x 3 – Level 2 \n Bilston, West Midlands \n £13.13 per hour + benefits \n £15.24 (Saturday) per hour + overtime + benefits
