International Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist

We’re looking for an International Shipping & Customs Specialist to take full ownership of global outbound logistics and trade compliance for a growing, international operation. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role where you’ll shape carrier strategy, ensure customs compliance, and continuously improve cost, service, and delivery performance. What we’re looking for • 5+ years’ experience in international shipping/logistics with hands-on trade compliance ownership, • Strong expertise in HS codes, Incoterms® 2020, duty/VAT frameworks, IOSS and customs procedures, • Proven experience running carrier RFPs and negotiations, delivering tangible cost savings, • Excellent documentation knowledge across export/import and regulatory requirements, • Confident using TMS, shipping platforms and ecommerce/WMS systems (e.g. ShipStation, Shopify, Linnworks, Metapack or similar), • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills for reporting and analysis, • Calm, collaborative communicator who works well with operations, customer service and external partners, • Nice to have: CILT / IoE&IT, IATA/FIATA or customs compliance certifications; experience with UK CDS and ICS2 What you’ll be doing • Own and execute global outbound logistics across parcel, pallet, LTL/FTL, air and courier shipments, • Build and manage a panel of carriers and forwarders, running RFPs, negotiating rates and SLAs, and conducting QBRs, • Lead trade compliance across UK, EU and US shipments, including:, • HS classification and master data management, • Correct application of Incoterms® 2020, • Duties, VAT, tariffs, IOSS and de minimis thresholds, • Country of origin and preferential origin documentation, • EORI registrations and broker management, • Prepare, verify and maintain all export/import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, COO, SDS/MSDS and regulatory filings, • Drive D2C shipping excellence, improving pick-pack-ship SLAs, tracking communications and returns flows while reducing WISMO queries, • Act as the key liaison for global partners, customers, carriers and brokers, • Own shipping systems and data, including TMS/label platforms and performance dashboards, • Reduce risk through strong packaging, SOPs, pre-clearance workflows, insurance and claims management, • Deliver continuous improvement through SOPs, training, root-cause analysis and measurable savings, • Manage freight budgets, forecasting and variance analysis, supporting peak periods and new product launches If you’re someone who enjoys owning a function end-to-end, improving how things work, and operating confidently in a fast-moving international environment, we’d love to hear from you.
