We are offering an exciting Unity 3D Game Developer Volunteer Work Experience Programme for aspiring developers who want to develop their technical skills, gain practical experience and build a stronger portfolio. This opportunity is particularly suited to students, graduates, self-taught developers and people at the beginning of their careers who may have learned Unity or C# but need practical experience to take the next step. The Opportunity You will receive guidance and training while gaining practical experience with Unity 3D and C#. As part of the programme, you will have the opportunity to work on prototype educational games and interactive experiences designed with children and young people in mind. The programme combines technical development with employability support, giving you the opportunity to strengthen your Unity skills, portfolio, CV and understanding of working within the UK education technology sector. Depending on the project, you may gain experience in: • Unity 3D game development, • C# scripting, • Gameplay mechanics and systems, • UI and user experience, • Creating engaging, child-friendly digital experiences, • Educational game concepts, • Debugging and testing, • Game development workflows, • Turning ideas and concepts into working prototypes, • Building and presenting projects for your portfolio Free Training & Development We want this experience to contribute to your longer-term career development. Participants will receive support including: • Free Unity 3D training and guidance, • One-to-one CV building and tailoring, • Personalised CV feedback for technology and game-development roles, • One-to-one career and employability support, • Portfolio development guidance, • Advice on how to present Unity projects professionally, • Practical Unity and C# development experience, • Regular mentoring and feedback, • Guidance on professional development workflows, • Experience within an organisation working with UK schools, • A reference upon successful completion, where appropriate Our aim is for you to finish the programme with more than something to add to your CV. We want you to leave with stronger technical skills, practical experience, an improved portfolio and a professionally tailored CV that can support your next career move. Who We’re Looking For You do not need to be an experienced professional game developer. We would particularly like to hear from: • University students, • Recent graduates, • Junior developers, • Self-taught programmers, • Aspiring game developers, • Career changers with an interest in game development, • Developers looking to build practical Unity experience Basic knowledge of Unity 3D and/or C# would be beneficial. More importantly, we’re looking for someone who is: • Willing to learn, • Creative and enthusiastic, • Interested in game development, • Interested in technology and education, • Comfortable receiving feedback, • Keen to develop their portfolio and professional skills Experience developing games for children or schools is not required. Why Educational Game Development? Working with technology in education provides a different challenge from conventional game development. You will have the opportunity to think about how games and interactive technology can make learning more engaging, accessible and enjoyable for children. As Kovicas works with schools in the UK, this programme can also give you valuable exposure to how technology is developed and considered within an educational environment. Potential Future Opportunities This programme is not a guarantee of employment. However, as Kovicas continues to grow, paid employment or contract opportunities may become available from time to time. Participants are welcome to apply for suitable paid opportunities if they become available, and experience gained during the programme may help demonstrate their skills. Any future paid role would be subject to a separate application, selection process and employment or contractor agreement.     Location: London Acton, NW10 Hours: 32 + hours a week - 10 - 6pm Pay: £15.50–£17.50 per hour, depending on experience Start: ASAP We are specifically looking for someone with practical experience in these areas, rather than general packing experience. We are looking for an experienced Ready Meal Packer & Batch Manager We are looking for a reliable, experienced and highly organised person to join our ready-meal production team. This is more than a packing role. We need someone who understands food production and can take responsibility for batch control, packing requirements, product identification, production dates, use-by dates and the movement of product through the packing process. You will play an important role in making sure that the right product is packed at the right time, with the correct information and full traceability. Key responsibilities • Manage and monitor daily ready-meal packing requirements., • Ensure the correct product, batch and quantity are available for packing., • Check and accurately record production dates and use-by dates., • Ensure product is correctly identified and controlled throughout the packing process., • Clearly identify and control partially packed product., • Track outstanding packing quantities and ensure they are followed through to completion., • Communicate production information clearly to the packing team., • Maintain accurate batch and traceability records., • Complete and monitor the required checks before product is released for packing or dispatch., • Ensure products are not released where information is incomplete, unclear or requires further verification., • Escalate any uncertainty regarding product status, dates, labelling or food safety., • Work closely with Production, Packing and QA to keep the operation running efficiently., • Maintain a clear and accurate audit trail of production, packing and release activities., • Ensure no product progresses through the operation beyond its approved use-by date. The person we are looking for You will ideally have previous experience in: • Ready-meal production, • Food manufacturing, • Food packing, • Batch or production control, • Food traceability and date control You will need to be: • Highly organised and methodical, • Experienced in working with food products and production batches, • Very attentive to detail, • Comfortable working with production records and packing requirements, • Able to communicate clearly with production, packing and QA, • Reliable and able to take ownership of your responsibilities, • Confident enough to stop and escalatewhen something does not look right, • Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on food production environment Good computer skills and experience using digital production records or spreadsheets would be an advantage, as we are developing a more digital system for production and packing control. Why this role is important This person will become a key link between production, packing and product release. We are looking for someone who doesn't simply complete a task, but takes responsibility for making sure the batch is correctly identified, controlled, packed and recorded from start to finish. The Role As SENCO, you will take the lead on SEND provision across the school, working closely with senior leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external professionals.
